I say regular as well! I cannot wait to see how strong this car runs, going to be a damn beast on the bottom end.

Thanks guys. I agree with regular bumper as well.

Got my driveshaft today, and after stating the lengths many times (38” rear to center bearing, 22.25” front portion) I got a driveshaft wth 25” front portion. Looks like I probably won't be able to make Carlisle now - was really amped on heading there again. Been quite a few years.

That's so frustrating, I'd cut them and weld a sleeve on just to get to the event :)

I already have a home-made one on the car, but its WAY vibratey above mid-2nd gear. That definitely won't work. haha.

That’s frustrating for sure, maybe they speed up making it right given the mistake!!

Anyone got a set of forged control arms? I’m looking for another set so I don’t have to replace bushings in my stamped ones. I’d rather upgrade the tears at the same time.

Regular bumper is better. I'm unsure about American bumpers but Uk s2 bumpers can be trimmed to get decent space. I had a s2 cabriolet for a while and there was enough space for a front mount intercooler, radiator and aircon radiator behind the bumper.

There's all sorts you can do with the coupe, are you planning on running aircon or getting rid of it due to space.

I can't upload a picture of the cab setup currently, my imgur account is playing up while they update the site.

Had to grind out pretty much all of the lower grille to get current bumper to work. Rs2 bumpers on the way, looks like plenty more space.

No AC due to space issues with 2 downpipes. Maybe someday but not now.

forged in the rear takes a bit of work... not just a drop-in solution. gotta move the subframe one way, and the rear diff the opposite way to keep driveshaft correct. but i finally got it all to work right together. and it was worth if for the 3 bolt ball joint connection keeping the alignment after launching hard.

i might have some more forged control arms layin around, i horde shit yaknow.

The Rs2 bumper does give slightly more space, still slightly less than an s2 one. Either is still better than the lower spec coupe bumpers. Shame we have to have the front plates on the car, I'm envious of other states that do not require them.

With either of the bumpers you have, are you leaving them for stock fogs/indicators or modding the bumper to fit rs2 lights (or late cabriolet lights)

Got brakes, suspension etc on last week and took this thing for an alignment and got it inspected and on the road. Still sorting minor issues here and there, but we’re getting there. Couple suspension bumps and clunks I hunted down, bumper got zip tied on with about 100 zip ties cuz its all busted, and I've gone through 2 power steering pumps and both are quite noisy, so I'm gonna have to live with it. So far it has 11.5psi to 3500 where it hits a rev limiter cuz the Ecu thinks it’s in park - working with tuner to get this sorted hopefully for Carlisle and maybe a bit more booost. Either way it does go 75 on the highway so it’ll at least make it.

If I hit it at 1500rpm boost is nearly instant and it definitely makes 450ftlbs but that’s where the party stops for now. Lugging higher gears can result in some long torquey pulls, which is awesome.

First outside video - I think it’s the right amount of loud for getting old.

I think when I swap the engine in the new cq I am just going to do away with the stock psp and put an electric one in instead. It means getting one shipped from the UK but the actual unit is cheap and I've seen people fit them under the back end of s2's to help distribute weight better.

This is electric power steering. Works great but not quiet.

If Speeding g60 doesn’t have some I have a set in great shape, new bushings... I’m not back home until this weekend though.

Thanks again! - made it from/to buffalo about 6 hours each way without a single hiccup, which is most definitely a record for any of my fresh builds haha. Averaging 21mpg while putting the foot into it quite a few times, that's pretty exciting.

This week I'll be working on my speedometer input issue a little, and taking a break. :hide:

Still waiting for an unreliable tuner guy. Just need this last thing done then I can move on to someone else. He says its ready to go, but I can't get him to send me the file to flash. So, who knows.

I went through every single canbus channel one by one trying to feed speed to the ECU, and came up with nothing, so -- that sucks. Doing some real life things at the moment anyways, so i'll start pushing on this next week.

I also have to weld up a blockoff plate for the vacuum pump on the back of the engine, its too close to the steering bars so its getting tossed (its not even used anyways)… other than that this thing is 100% -- not a single issue with anything. Will update when its revving right!
