Anyone out there with a sharing/caring predisposition mind sharing how they ran this beautiful breather? In particular I am interested in the car have can breather return line being back to it.
I feel as if it would require some sort of check valve or vacuum actuated bypass valve I suppose that would prevent the oil from being drained down to the oil pan except during decel high vacuum conditions.
Anyone go that route? TIA!

On mine since I just got my car running , I bought a check valve , but also bought a plug to install for now . Idea was to plug it off first and drain the can myself until I can get an idea of what’s accumulating in there and how much - and if it’s something I want going to the pan .
I’ll find a pic or PN for you.

Great thanks! I always hear/see people draining their catch cans to the crank and frankly it concerns me lol. I get nervous thinking about it! There's usually water or something else nasty.

There is likely a fair amount of moisture in there if it is doing its job. If the catch can has any sort of a coalescing element or almost eliminator in it , some liquid should be knocking out in there . That’s why it made me nervous as well.
I posted at one point in my project thread and never really got much input , but I was kind of wondering about the ideal breather setup , as in :
•Drain to block or not
•does it need to have a suction from the intake? Or can it just go to atmosphere .
•if I tap into the valve cover do I need a baffle of some sort ?
I’ve been looking through email/ order history and haven’t found the part number but it looks like this . Russel performance brand

Here is what it looks like when it is set up to Drain back to the block.

Is there enough pressure from the catch can for that check valve to allow the oil to drain into the block?
I just picked up the block breathing adaptor from Marc, and will be doing something similar on my 4000... this is an interesting idea, but curious if it's naturally open until it gets back pressure, or if it's naturally closed and opens when it gets pressure.
At least in the past, the catch can drain I've done to my block has always been gravity based (or so I assume!).

Good question. The type of valve I have in mind is operated by the vacuum source from the intake manifold. It would be similar to an intake's diverter valve in that it would open unrestricted flow to the sump during over-run or idle. I still need to find said valve though lol.

Re: Issam's 054-103-12 cc breather return line
I decided against running it back to the sump basically because I'll be running total seal rings and I don't expect blow-by issues, nor do I want moisture in the crank. I also bought one of these to replace the AN fitting directly on the breather:

I'm curious how does this hold against the block? Pressfit?
I wouldn't drain back to block either, the mix that comes out of there is nasty.
Also in my case, not having something setup to recoup or evacuate the vapors on the catch, you get some "good smells".

Ya I really dislike that smell lol. And yes it's a tapered/pressed fit into the block.
