1989 80q part out(GONE)

Post by DE80q »

I figured I would start this now, to see who needs what. I have an early '89 80q with square stock switches, no air bag, and a trip computer. I don't know if the trip computer works though. Overall the car looks to be in good shape, but apparently it doesn't run right. It has around 218k on the clock, and I was told it shifted beautifully. I'm going to try to get it running enough to drive it a little, and make sure everything seems ok.

So here is what I know about the car.
-It's lowered. it has H&R springs, andhas been upgraded to the later 2 piece suspension.
-it has a pass through tank for a ski sack(I've never seen an 80 with this option)
-it has almost new(was told around 1500 miles) 14" tires.
-it still has the headlight squirters, and they look to be in good shape.
-it has an auxiliary radiator, but it seems to be doing the normal corrosion issues.

The car has had a grey leather seats from a 90q swapped in, and is pretty good shape other than the driver's seat. It's a black car, so most of the body panels will probably be put in storage for my car if anything ever happens.

*Parts sold*
Manual heater swap
AC/snub mount bracket
Cluster and trips switch
Subframes
NG bottom end
Stebro muffler
034 shifter mod

Attached is the one crappy pic that I have taken of the car.

I have been asked twice now, so I'll put it here.

I will not sell the car as a whole. This is because the car car many problems that would make it not worth repairing. The engine is bad, the fuel system is hacked, multiple electrical issues, the windshield leaks, and the interior carpet is soaked and smells. I would assume the floors are getting rusty due to the standing water in the front of the cabin. Yes, the body looks to be in good shape, but we are pretty sure it is a respray, and the DS back door is rusting, and other areas are showing signs of rust as well.

Got the front end pulled off today, and the aux radiator looks pretty good. Has some corrosion, but nothing hateful. I'll post pics later, was in kind of a rush today.

And for those who have asked, no I'm not parting the bandit. And for those who said there was no way my wife would let me buy another 80q the same month I bought a house, here is a pic of the near twins together! :P

I would be interested in a box of bolts. I need all the bolts for the core support, bumper, bumper support, lower front cross member, and headlights.

It's an aftermarket one... It's heavy gauge, but not sure how "exact fit" it is.

Putting a hold on this. The previous owner is asking to buy the car back... We will see where that goes.
