bumper exit spot on t44 and c4 look to be very very very close, everything else under there should be the same.

The exhaust looks really amazing, I'm going to look into the wrx stuff but ultimately will probably contact you for the turbo back contact (in the meantime I might come up to visit our friends with a few glass packs for a sticker) as there are some better investments happening on the car right now

Long time update - Car is still being used very often for short trips and has seen a lot of rest, relaxation, and garage time (131,070 on the clock)

Here's a quick run down:

- New ISV (I chased this issue for about a year (hot-start issue)
- Fixed parasitic battery drain (Leaking After-run pump running forever)
- New Battery (Correct size - WOW!)
- New ATE Master Cylinder
- Upgraded front brakes (4 Piston Porsche with A8 Rotors/034 Brackets/Apikol SS Lines)
- Upgraded rear discs & Apikol lines
- Bled Brakes with High temp Fluids
- 17" OEM Audi Wheels + 20mm Spacers & Long Bolts to clear brakes (Fresh All Season UHPs (17/45/225)
- Upgraded Exhaust Full 2x 2.25" with new cats and an OEM Muffler (Loudi is dead but I can drive it without making a scene).
- 1/2" Copper elbow to bypass After-run pump
- Changed belts
- Made a vent cut out for boost gauge that looks OEM (In my humble opinion)
- Upgraded to Bosch 040 Pump (Thinking I had a check valve issue)
- Upgraded Injectors to Volvo Red Tops (Thinking I had a fuel injector leak)
- New Distributor
- New Plug Wires (3rd time replacing)
- New G28 & G4 (Bought actual OEM ones that work excellent)
- Installed Transmission Mounts
- Rebuilt passenger side axle

Probably a lot more but that is what I can remember off the top of my head.

Probably going to start thinking about the T-Belt/Waterpump, The steering can be a little vague on center (Damper?), The paint could use a little love, Have an AAN ecu to put in with a harness from Marc (Still need to contact you about this), Probably going to keep the k26/T04E out of it until I do the Tbelt, I need to upgrade to Samco hoses too as mine have started deteriorated again but hold boost well, I also need to install a new brake pressure accumulator or convert to Vacuum.

Here is a picture of how it currently looks and a low res pic of the brake upgrade.







The car is a real hoot and completely back to sleeper mode. It's the best its been since owning it for ~7 years or so.

Oh... It still doesn't have a headliner or radio

Yes!! Love seeing updates to my twin. Glad you've been treating her well in your absence on the forum.

I've got the same issue with dead on-center steering. Not sure if damping would solve the issue, but I remember reading something about adjusting the rack preload in the Bentleys. I'm probably gonna have my rack rebuilt (cause it's leaking like a sieve) and then I'll mess around with that. Oh, and add a shitload of caster.

Now get those Euro lights installed!!

Spent a half day cleaning 4 years worth of grime off the car.



(Yeah yeah coolant reservoir blah blah I know haha)

Finally installed the euro lights after 4 years of hoarding. It's all been done with spade connectors, so future removal for work will be easy to do.




Since I haven't seen this answered anywhere and the reflectors are NLA / hard to find I came up with a solution that uses the stock corners and retains blinkers.




Simply take a mini hacksaw and cut a pilot hole on the corner. After that just cut through the sides evenly.

Still need to find some chrome clips to replace the lame ziptie.

I also repaired my cracked wiper fluid reservoir and cleaned up some wiring terminals.

Found a nice venair replacement IC hose too since 034 one was junk for a third time in 20k miles.

Currently doing a deep cut and claybar will see what I can polish with my DA.

Car had been enjoying the PNW weather and lack of salt. It runs and drives excellent and I am really pleased I have kept with it over all these years. It's still <135k miles and doesn't get used much since I now have a new daily (f150 SCrew)

Also got some dent removal tools and have been fixing everything possible, starting to look good!!

Ended up buying the correct euro light reflectors which I enjoy big time.

Might have some plans to build some more power this spring, might just keep enjoying it as it is.

I decided to replace the feed fuel line and I am glad that I did. After seeing the line from under the car it was apparent it was past it's prime.

Probably the easiest repair I've had to do to the car, definitely not the easiest to find a good replacement part.

Also added a new 710 valve and drove it a few hundred miles - it's a little over 135,000 now.

6 Year Ago...

I took my headliner out to repair it and placed it into a storage container. The next morning the cardboard and yellow sponge had turned into a slumped pile of goop due to a massive rain leak.

With the obscurity of the piece I had somewhat given up searching for a GOOD headliner board and I became immune to the elements and noise.

That is up until two Months ago a random local CL search turned up an intact headliner! It came with a black redone version and the foam already scraped - score - I decided to upholster myself - I picked grey suede that ended up matching well with the car and makes the whole inside a bit more elegant.





I haven't driven it to experience the noise reduction as I ended up pulling off the sunroof seal - but wow does it feel fancy having a ceiling!

What generic (Audi/VW) seal can be used? Not really looking to wait for overseas shipping and the weather is nice.

p.s. 2019 will also be the year of something cool with this car - I mean it this time.

So it's an EXACT fit - except you need about 1.5 of them - I guess we got big sunroofs.

Will post it when back in when I get the second seal shipped.

So it's been a while since an update - I haven't spent too much time working on the car overall, but it's been so long that a lot has been accomplished.

Here we go:

1. Sunroof bmw seal works perfect, clean the edges and install 1.5x of them - I mated them in the middle at the back.

Paint up close looks like this in a lot of areas without wax - during the cars transport across the country a wrecked mdx dumped it's entire oilpan onto the car that baked in the sun most of the trip. Kind of a bummer, but might push me to repaint it soon. I have a picture of it somewhere - but its not a great memory haha.



2. Nougat and I get to work





3. Finished the headliner install - I don't recommend doing this job yourself. If you also ever find yourself needing to get the impossible springs on the sunroof vent I came up with a fun trick - Get some thick fishing line on the springs and pull them into place - once they're in just get some surgical scissors and cut the line.

Have a few small bubbles to smooth out near the visors - but it is a massive improvement inside.





4. Shout out to the homies from Milwaukee - These tools are amazing. The big 1/2" takes off the car lugs in 2-3 duggas everytime - it's unstoppable. The best part is if you need to work quietly they are brushless and do not make a lot of noise.



5. Visited a cool volcano



6. Got to visit Germany/Austria and go warp speed in a Mercedes wagon on the autobahn. Saw a lot of cool cars.







7. Laughed at this box too much and got back to work.



8. Replaced the 'Hydraulic Pressure Accumulator' aka the 'build of materials' - This thing was a complete mess.

Public Service Announcement:

I knew for a while I didn't have pressure assistance with the brakes unless the car was running. I always thought in my mind that if I did lose the belt on the PowerSteering pump, I would simply overpower the pedal and stop the car as needed - I've driven manual brake cars!

Lucky for me I decided to try it myself a few weeks ago - I can tell you that I was dead wrong.

Early AM: To be a good neighbor I decided to push the car down the hill - Coasting down a 12* hill with the wheel unlocked. I start picking up a lot of speed and try to apply the brakes - I get to the point where I am about to break the pedal off and I am still catching up speed. At that point I pop the clutch in 2nd gear (lol) and I am ecstatic that I have the ability to stop again. This really put things in perspective what would happen at a high speed incident if I lost the motor - I couldn't even stop the thing going <10 mph - Yikes.

Anyway - Removal has been straight forward - I followed the instructions here: http://20v.org/brakprob.htm

The only thing they got wrong though is you don't need to get your arm wet with hydraulic fluid. Get a small clamp or vice grips wrapped in tape and pinch off the rear line - dassit.

Couldn't get the 'Banjo' fitting off - can you see why? I decided it was time to disconnect this line at the pump which was a great idea - this thing is toast.



David Kase supplied this replacement unit - he was great to deal with and the shipping packaging was very secure.

Should have the replacement line here this weekend to bleed the system/refill - Excited to see how it feels as I don't think I've ever driven this car with real braking assistance!



9. Since everything was pulled out I decided to remove these monstrosities and replace with some packed OEM Engine mounts with 3M Window Weld. I put some cheap silver heatshielding on it that I'll probably change it to the cool gold foil. I think they are going to feel great on the roads.

Here is what an 034 mount looks like after it re-enters earths atmosphere - then gets welded together by a 20v lover (hahaha)




Also made OEM Transmission Mounts using the same method - will post that info later.

10. Finally replaced the bypass pipe with a new bosch pump - the Rad fan had to work too hard without it



11. Think I discovered a 'new' 200 20v mod - Prove me wrong?

I punched out the front window of the airbox and relocated the windshield sprayer tank - It was literally held in with just tabs.

It should be relatively louder now and get direct airflow from the headlight area - I need to clean it up and get it installed, but I like the idea a lot more than a cone filter.



12. I found one of these - small but important interior piece!



13. Been enjoying garage time with the dog and commuting in my wife's cool A5 - The b9 is a serious car!





14. Finally - Did it's yearly regular maintenance

- Rotated tires
- Changed oil (Trying liquidmolylube for the first time - freaked me out that it looks like used oil)
- Changed all plugs (Staying with the BKR7E's)
- Changed Fuel Filter
- Checked/Topped off Trans Fluid

15. There is also a 3% chance I go to BBQ this year - it's an 18 hour ride but it may give me an excuse to tow something with my truck I don't use often. I have something going on that Sunday, so it would be a bit extreme.

Quick Update:

Been driving the car on slippery rainy days and really enjoying it - I really missed driving a car with 0 driver aids.

No issues to report at all - Even got to let a cool Audi employee give it a rip - always weird being the in the passenger seat.



Wife also picked up a new car - it is a B9 SQ5 Prestige with the sport brakes and diff - this thing defies physics... seriously jeez.



Picked up some WildPeak AT3's for the truck - looking forward to some snow in the mountains

Wife got an SQ5 loaner when they were doing an airbag recall on her B7 earlier this year. Made her pick me up for lunch so I could drive it.... And wow, definitely does things it shouldn't. So much fun!

What headliner material did you use? Was it foam backed? I need to redo my headliner and I have gray leather as well. Yours looks good!

Thank you - The SQ5 is pretty much the regular driver for the house now - I have a good exhaust clip somewhere, it has been a lot of fun and is surprisingly efficient as well.

Yes, I am so happy that I stuck with the hydraulic unit and have it tapped if it needs a recharge in 10 years.

I didn't use any padding underneath - it is thick enough to not have the adhesive soak through it but not interfere with the Sunroof.

In my experience with the foam/cardboard - Use the best 3M adehsive you can find, I started with a less industrial fabric adhesive and it nearly ruined the project.
