I have a jammer system that I could add the Valentine 1 too it, but on the fence between that and the escort 9500ci with GPS and yada yada, cooked hot spots, learning systems, internet updates. I need to put in more research lol, plus I think its best to hold off until I get the new intercooler installed so I can see how much room there is.PRY4SNO wrote:I like the first set of wheels best.
Why avoid spacers?
Valentine1 is still the radar detector to beat, IMO.

I would like to put in a TDI 6 speed but not the 4.11 stock gearing, I would prefer something lower in the 3.80's This will lower my cruising RPM and essentially give me a better top speed. I ordered my rod's and will hopefully have them stuffed in by the end of February while I am waiting for the inter cooler to finish up. Hi, I really appreciate the feedback. I have the goal to take it to the Bonneville salt flats and have a run. I want to get as close to 200 as possible. I don't need a time slip, just a camera on gps speed will do. Once that is done, I will go back to the 4.11's. For now I have the 5 speed in it that is the same final drive, I would like it a bit lower at 80 mph. I should look up a converter to give me an idea of tire size/final drive/and rpm to see what top speed I may achieve at 7200 rpm. I'm not looking to stuff this engine with titanium springs and unubtanium lifter, fancy cranks and what not. This is a "stuff the 7a cams in, rods, big injector, turbo, and intercooler" base build.dana wrote:maxnadri wrote:While waiting for parts to come in, I have been thinking about the transmission. I have the TDI 6-speed in my 90 quattro with 4.11 final drives. I cannot see needing anything higher for the highway. I drove it from VT to vegas and back, and the gearing was epic for 90-100mph crusiing. I think that the TDI 01e with 3.89's and a big turbo gasser might actually be too much gear for you unless you need to sustain 130mph for hours at a time.

I ALMOST bought a treadstone as you are correct that they look like a very good option, at almost 1/3rd the price, but I ended up going with Marcs recommendations and ensuring that I keep my stock bits in place. I want this to be a true sleeper, and most likely I will even replace the new H&R springs for something closer to stock ride height. All the gauges are coming off the A pillar and I am going to relocate the consolidated one pod to the center vent. I am going to try and work on it tonight and get the rest of the rear brake calipers on with rotors before I drive it up to that Audi yard. I am going to look for that bottom engine pan, brake duct work, alternator cooling and even a tow hitch if I can find one. No one should suspect the fully functional operation of this death star... Right? I did not film the 9 cars lining the driveway including a 91 200 20vt Avant, passat TDI avant manual or the various S cars. It was unreal and hard to take it all inPRY4SNO wrote:Now I know how bitches feel at the humane society.
I want to rescue all of it.
