VEMS knock control on AAN

i was recently looking at my vemscfg and realized that my knock control was never setup in my base map and after some reading i went brain fart on all of the requirements for setting up base knock control. can anyone here assist me on or provide me with a base vemscfg i could look at for getting knock control setup on my car? i'd prefer to have it as im pretty hard on things and its better to be safe than sorry. thanks guys.

From what I've read and heard, knock in VEMS isn't very dependable, at least with the 5 cyl. There's a poster on the vemssupport forum who has gotten it to work out, at least in logs. Maybe Marc will have something to say about this.

From what I've read, you'll really need to get on a dyno with some headphones to calibrate it correctly.

Thanks for the input. from my reading you are right that it is hard to calibrate it for the 5 cylinder but it can work as good as the original motronic from what they say. i'd like to have it functioning so im going to have to dive in and get myself a miracle ear and start trying to dial it in lol. maybe marc will chime in but i know he uses the old school way of listening to the engine as thats what he has told me in the past.

So you really grabbed my attention when you told me you paid a gentlemen in Europe, iirc, to teach you the ways of the VEMS. More specifically that you had solved the VEMS knock control conundrum through said tutoring. I wanted to pick your brain. I feared the worst when you went radio silent last week though :(

Wasn't sure if you perished or got grounded from PC use. Anyway I'm sure I'm not the only person wanting to pick your brain further
