Thanks Loxx and scubadave. :)

What bushings did you use for the inner part of the rear control arm?

I used Powerflex PFR3-206.

Long time no updates..

But heres one, I got bad news and bad news.
The daily tdi 80 is dead. It would need new diesel pump or major repair to old one, leaking from the main axle at the back. :shame:
The 200 is also at no go. Drove it for maybe 4000 km or more in total and then problems started.

First time it died on supermarket parking lot. Got it home, red the fault codes and tadaa, hall sensor it is. :we:
Next, remove the distributor.
Got scared when the distributor axle ( or what would you call it.. ) came off whitout the distributor gear.

The pin was gone and all I found was this:
WP_20150627_015.jpg
WP_20150627_015.jpg (416.53 KiB) Viewed 106014 times

Gotta hope the rest of it is in the oilpan..
After I got the gear back in its place and everything ready to go, I bumped just a bit to the aftercooling waterpump and:

WP_20150628_002.jpg (411.54 KiB) Viewed 106014 times

:bangshead:
Yesterday, a week later, I got a new pump and the car back on road. For a while at least.
Drove about 20km, and everything worked fine.
Then I tried to leave to work this morning and it wouldn't start.
Gave the hall fault code again, but it vent off after erasing and didin't come back.
Still no start and a new code from TPS, G69, can this cause no start?

This is getting frustrating.. I still need to go to dyno before winter and there are a few track days too where one could make a fool of himself. :D

On the road again. :D

Replaced the sender and bang, it started right away.
Also bought new after run pump which is a bit shorter than oem part, but fits nice and does the job. Replacement was also quite much cheaper, an Opel or Saab part I believe..

I haven't driven with this one a lot hence I needed a new daily after the 80 died, just maybe mere 500km in 5 weeks.
My new (haldex) quattro A3 has had all the attention in the mean time. :hide:

We had a club trackday few weeks ago and I got to sit a few laps in typ85 quattro with HX52Pro and in twincharged UrS4.
All I got to say about that is I need more.

The original plan was to dyno this before touching the engine powerwise, and after the trackday I feel I need a bit more.. So now the plan is to get to dyno next week. :P
There's another trackday coming shortly and I hope to get atleast one or two slow laps with 200, but we're throwing a friends bachelor party a day before trackday so we'll see how that goes.. :drunk: :drunk:

Glad you're back on the road.

Wow, do you have any more info on both of the audis you rode in? They sound very interesting. That's definitely something that should get you going :)

Correct. ;)
UrS4 was Thuppus, he lives about 30km from me and the typ85 was another audi enthusiast from the area.
I believe theres no build thread for the typ85 which is a shame cause it was a beast, but Thuppu has quite nice build thread as in link above..
The torque on UrS was unreal..

Pretty quiet here, been driving now and then without problems after the hall sender incident. :)
Went at the track too, but only on "slow session" :P

The car passed MOT test yesterday and today it will go to hibernation until next spring.

I'm kinda out of motivation with this thing, the cyl 1 has a lot of blow by on boost and I should do complete engine over haul if I wanna play with this in next summer. :bangshead:
Good thing is I already have one 2.5tdi block in "reserve" if/when I find motivation..

Still need to fix some issues in instrument cluster and assemble the front, but the engine bay is done at least for a while. :)
Got the new full aluminum radiator from ebay:
WP_20150402_001.jpg

China made, but seems ok and bolted on just fine.
Had to plug the aux.rad. fittings thought since don't have it.
WP_20150413_003.jpg

Repaired the washer fluid reservoir cracks and bought new pump, changed the a/c compressor since the one on the car was busted from day 1 and got a new fuel filter too.
Also painted some bits in engine bay, huge mistake.
Painting failed miserably, but I'll have to keep the hood closed from now on.
WP_20150415_004.jpg

Decided not to change the radiator hoses yet after all, 'cause cheapscate. :foff:
This will bite me back at some point I'm sure, but we'll see.

There's a big classic car show coming at the start of May and I'm hoping to get there in this.
At the show there's Audi Club Finlands stand also and at least one ur-quattro (I guess) like every year before, thought they have been different every time. ;)
Last year there were one 200 exlusive (The Bond car) also. It had red leather interior from factory. 8-)
I still need new summer tires for this thought..
Can't wait to get back on the road and ditch the 80 tdi.

how much is the radiator? I soon also going to need this

Okay, time to get this one out from hibernation.
Or actually took it last week and found a coolant leak that caused foggy windows last fall.

Hose that connects from rear of the block to somekind of valve controlling coolant flow to heatercore had a hole in it.
Hose was NLA, but managed to craft one from simple 90 degree bend. That'll do for now.

Next to do is oilpan baffle plate from Thuppu and the front shocks, they're covered in oil.. :shame:

Also got some rods, pistons, valves, etc. from FCP-engineering for the stroker build.
I highly recommend fcp, really nice and easy to deal with.

Plan is to use ACV block and 7a head, which I already bought.
My first engine build so we'll see how it goes..

Nothing much happening here.. Stuck with the stroker build and efr dreams.
Relised that been driving with this over 10000km since I bought which it which is
Had a minor issue with brakes being stuck. All 4 were on after a few weeks stand still.
Took the main cylider apart, exercised with it a bit and changed seals. Seems to work, but we'll see.
May need to spend some € on that..

Also got Bilstein B8 shocks and everything new to the top of the shock.
After buying everything for big €, realized that I could have bought adjustable top mounts from Thuppu 20km away with less than half the price. :boom:

Well, next time.

Also bought everything one could get from powerflex to the front of the car.
Been 3 weeks since order from a Finnish shop Euroracing. Now the website is on repairs. No answers on email. The phone number of the shop is not in use anymore.
Goodbye 350€...
Guess I need to order from somewhere else then.

Next time working with shocks and upper mounts the car may get coilovers as well. Now I just do not have enough interest on that.

Oh, and went to dyno earlier..
What a disapointment for the numbers vs. the feel of the car... But as long as the car feels good, do the numbers matter?
May post these first dyno results later when I get stroker build back on track...
Anyway, decided to go double with the hp numbers, even if they don't mean anything... :foff:

As well as every other bushing. No wonderthe car was interesting to drive around.
Should have done this a long time ago..

While I'm in there, sandblasted front struts and front subfame. They got some new paint.
Still need to get new wheel bearings and tie rod ends as they got somewhat destroyed while getting them off.
Also thinking about replacing the fuel lines as now the subfame would be off the way.

Long time no posting, so time to add something. 8-)

After the suspension and front bushing overhaul, I had a totally different car on my hands and I loved it.
All the klonks and klunks have dissapeared and the car feels really firm to drive.

I even had a track day with this one just shortly after the bushing/shock replacement and on the track it felt as it was glued to the surface no matter what you did.
It was awesome.
As I don't want to use this on our salty roads during the winter, the car went to storage on 30.10.

Now when the car is off my hands, I hopefully get some time to move along with the stroker build.
Already got some goodies from iABED Industries through S2forum group buy, the crankcase breather :
IMG_20161105_175546.jpg

Big thanks to Issam for these, gotta love some billet goodies.

Oh, and on a p.s.
On the trackday the car was making the funniest of noises through the by-pass, it sounded almost as there were a dumb valve installed.
Seems if you install the bypass valve wrong way around (ie. pressure coming from bottom, not from the side of the valve) it makes these silly noises.
I was advised to replace the valve asap, but as I checked what was going on with the valve, it was the 034 aluminium one and just installed "wrong"

The stroker project got a small jump forward today.
I got a flywheel for 016 gearbox and 7a dampner from very friendly latvian guy through S2forum. :)

Next step is to take rotating assembly to be balanced and do some machining to block and head.
The aim is at 700hp, we'll see is it doable. :D

Thingies so far at the attic:
ACV 2.5tdi block from vw transporter
crack free 7A head
159mm X-Beam rods from FCP Engineering
81.50mm pistons with 22mm pin from FCP Engineering
+0.5mm valves all around
All new gaskets and bearings
Small bits and bobs like oil press sensors etc. :)

Still needed:
EFR8347 0.83 T3
MaxxECU
Exhaust manifold
Clutch
Cams?
Injectors

I still need to figure out is cams and clucth.

With cams either go with stock 3B, get NM cams or go all in and get catcams 1002305.
Really tempted to go catcams route, but €€€.
3B cams would come off the engine sitting on 200 as of now.

With clutch I have no idea.
Help me out here? :idunno:

Start with a set of 7A cams (or just the exhaust) and upgrade from there. Should act as a nice baseline.

Clutch, lots of people run Southbend with great success. On your side of the Atlantic, the uprated Sachs 707 is pretty easy to get a hold of and well regarded. The Southbend kits use the 707 as well. Since you're going through FCP see what they have available.

They have a bit less lift than 7A cams from what I've found out..
