Main & Rod Bearings - Manufacturing Defect?
I just got a set of main and rod bearings today, made by Clevite/MAHLE for my Audi 3B engine, and after looking at them all closely, I see one half of one crank bearing and one half of one rod bearing have noticeable gouges in them. Is this something that is to be expected? Are these bearings bad, and worthy of returning? I can run my fingernail across them and feel the marks. They seem to be below the level of the bearing material, not protruding above the surface, but it's sort of hard to tell.
Thanks!

I'd call and complain but in reality it isn't really going to hurt anything.
