Audi 5000 inspection

Post by 88a5tq »

Hey I am trying to get the 5000 inspected and they are givg me crap about the parking lights. They are saying the ones I'm pointing at in the picture should turn on with the inside white driving bulbs instead of as turn signals. They passed them last year but my question is, did Audi design the outside orange lens to come on only with the turn signals? Or are they supposed to come on with the first headlight switch click instead?

Foscora, maybe you have knowledge of this debacle :)

They are parking/marker lights not turn signals. The only front turn signals on a 5000 are in the bumper.

As far as I know, on NA cars, those are indeed marker lights.
But since u asked for me, maybe you want to know about euro cars and well, those aren't even pierced, no lamp inside, its basically a reflective stuff. Blinkers are in the front bumper and in the fenders

All I can say is I finally got a moment to take a look at who you are behind your username and I've gotta say I'm blown away by your cars. Thibaud I didn't even realize you weren't in the US. Sorry :hide:

I knew you were a new name I hadn't seen yet so I figured "hey maybe he's looking around on the forum today too!" :D

Thanks for the euro info though. Very cool! I rewired the lights to pass inspection in the morning. I'd found my exhaust broke in half last night and fixed it for $3.12 lol. They didn't even mention it. Should be fully legal by 9 AM :P

Nice chatting with you anyway.

Lol true. Nothing new came up during the actual inspection. It was actually about half as much as last year's inspection and I can never figure out why. Maybe it's from an exemption but I never have the invoices to compare. It's legal now though!! :D
