Jake's Other 91 200 Avant - The Nice One

Post by Midnight »

So I bought Nick's 200 :) .

In Lexington I got passed by a family in an A3. They were staring in awe of the 200, even the little guy in the back seat. Other then that it was a pretty uneventful drive home.

The plan is to keep the white one as a summer driver/show car. The blue one will be a stock-ish winter beater. I will be driving the white car home this weekend, so there wont be much in the way of updates here for a few weeks. Really looking forward to the end of the school year.

Slowly starting to got a feel for the car and where I want to go with it. Spent some time smoothing out the idle and tweaking some of the light load areas of the VE table today. I'm happy with the results for my first time ever really messing with tuning. The car is now much happier and easier to drive in traffic. Up next is a new valve cover gasket and catch can.

Re: Jake's Other 91 200 Avant - The Nice One - Cruise Contro

Post by Midnight »

I've been wondering why my cruise control isn't working. Because of the Vems? I haven't found any connection between the cruise module and the ecu in the schematic, am I missing anything?

No connection to the ECU. Cruise gets a signal from the speedometer. Make sure all the vacuum switches and pump work (and are adjusted properly) . Then check the stalk switch. Last resort you can resolder the module.

Is there any way this car was on a trailer heading west on I70 in Utah a couple weeks ago? I saw a similar looking car when I was roadtripping back east in my pearl white b3 90.

Nope, I've been dailying this car in southern Illinois for the last couple months. I think I remember seeing one for sale out that way about a month ago though.

yea, I thought so too, couldn't remember why it looked familiar. It had wheels that were reminiscent of what you have on your car. I was very excited to have two pearl white 1991 audis on that awesome stretch of highway.

So I got the car all decked out for Halloween.

Then it decided to start spraying coolant everywhere. Long story short I need a new upper radiator hose. Is the kit from 034 the only way to get one? HPR or anybody else make them?

Maybe from Roose or Samco off of an S2forum vendor? Not sure if 3B S2 hoses fit the same, however.
