My plastic-faced TO bearing didn't fare too well even for only 20k miles of abuse. I got the 0B1 141 165 bearing from ECS for $15 and as I was installing it, one of the securing tabs broke off so they're sending another over. However, I just realized they could be drastically different by design. I thought I should post up the depth of the 01E bearing (1.329") vs the 016 bearing that 034 provided when I purchased my SB clutch from them for the 200 20v (1.302"). The 016 is obviously used but I measured at a point appearing to be unaffected by the wear pattern.
I don't have the 016 bearing's part number but I do have the 01E's which is Ss 01E 141 165 B. The p/n I have shown for both the mc and 3b motors for 1991 is 0B1 141 165 as per ETKA. I think its pretty up to date in terms of software??
The mc bearing is on the left and the 01E is on the right. The backing plate/sleeve is slightly different in depth also.
Anyone used this 01E bearing successfully on the 3b with stock 016 trans yet?
