no, they have a standard bore line up, but the 4.2 uses the same physical block dimensions as the 3.6. so, when there's not enough block material for the larger bores, what to do? space the cylinders out a little from each other.

I understand the difference between the pt and abh, i just don't understand why the abh isn't symmetrical. What ever was done to the left bank, would have been done to the right bank, yes?
i would probably say yes, but there's the oil and water passages that were probably shifted and or blocked for flow characteristics from side to side via the gasket layout. that's probably why they are R and L specific.
Carlisle was a hell of a lot of fun last year. I think I drove Brian's S6 there last time. That weekend happens to fall on my birthday as well. Yet more excuse to drink myself stupid

Thats right, drink and drink and drink more. Then, I'll have to reluctantly drive your car
torqued the head studs and cam caps down tonight. Also modified the tool I built to rotate the cams at the back of the heads (little slot at the back of the cams) to be a bit stronger.. with the stiffer valve springs it was bending the metal at the end of the original one I built!
Next step is to really think out my drain locations on the block. My turbo drains that I setup on the 3.6 work fine, but the problem is that I need another good drain location for crankcase oil return. I've got a few spots on the block in mind.

I intend to go this year, hopefully we'll meet up.
I would really like to meet up with you guys down there. Hopefully everybodys project cars get ready by then [/quote]Mine isn't even started yet, but, I'm going to have 40 hours per week open in my schedule :frustrated: :frustrated:

Marc, when I took apart the white 2.6L stroker S4, my GT30R literally fell right off. Tony @ EPL told me when he was tuning it the car kept loosing power on the dyno, even when he raised the boost, wouldn't be surprised if you were loosing lots of power due to the same issue. Anyways, looks good!
yeah, when you track high HP turbos the heat and vibration plays hell on the fasteners. I used high temp loctite on the fasteners, in this case it was the studs securing the turbo to the manifold that started to back out (the nuts were still securely in place). next step is some nice mechanical locking tabs I seem to recall seeing in the 034 motorsport catalog
