I was messing with the wiring on the left side of the car and now I have lost the ... Low beam, high beam, and left turn signal all in one screw up. My fuses aren't blown, I can hear the flasher in the dash flashing fast when choosing "left", rear is flashing fast and front not at all. What else could it be. I put a meter on ground and to the hot wire of the headlight connector and try both high and low beam and get nothing... I put a meter on on ground and on the turn signal connector and turn on the left turn and and don't get a pulsing voltage...
Are there any relays or headlight control modules or anything else that's not sending the power out to the head light and turn signal? Where could it be stopping at?
200 Quattro headlight question
Re: 200 Quattro headlight question
I don't have the wiring diagrams in front of me, but IIRC don't they all share a ground? If all of them went out at once, that'd be my first bet. I'd check the resistance between the ground at the headlight and any ground point (engine/body/whatever). If it's not close to zero, you've got a break in the wiring or a poor connection.
I apologize if that's not how the wiring is; it's been a while since I relayed mine, and I'm running off memory.

Re: 200 Quattro headlight question
Thanks. I will check the ground, but one of my meter leads was on a bare piece of the body for ground. I'm also going to try to figure out and track down what the lamp control module is and what it does. Supposedly it is the fifth relay over in the middle row under the driver's side knee bar under the steering wheel. Overt thing was working fine until I shorted something.
Re: 200 Quattro headlight question
Ah! Okay, as I understood it, you were checking at the ground pin. Disregard what I said, then. Sounds like voltage isn't being supplied then. To be clear, are just the headlights on the left side not working, or all the headlights/highbeams in addition to the left turn?

Re: 200 Quattro headlight question
Just the headlights on the left side and the front left turn signal too. When turning on left signal, the rear works but flashes fast, probably due to the lack of amp draw from missing the front left. When I turn on the headlights, I get all running lights and only the right side headlights. When I choose high beam, same thing... No left headlights.
Re: 200 Quattro headlight question
Here is my lamp control module... It looks like a standard relay, but this one is electronic and has more pins. I would have no idea on how to test this or how it should act. It looks like I am going to have to do a lot of point-to-point with my meter and more than likely split the heavy duty jacket that protects the wiring harness that goes goes to the front of the car. I was Really hoping to not have to do that.
