Marc's 1990 4.2L V8 Twin Turbo Coupe Quattro
Waiting for the manifolds to come back from Kalifornia. Plan is to use a 5 cylinder EM gasket with #5 lopped off as its a better gasket design.
If I had time to work on the car I should be putting the interior back together while I'm waiting for the manifold but I've been busy getting the wagon ready to go for Watkins Glen next week. Gotta fabricate a bracket for my oil cooler and rig up the duct work and electric fan. Yikes.

Credit to Nate on that one.

Still sharing with the wagon, I needed a 4 bar upgrade for my next trip to the dyno with the wagon. Both cars are currently down anyway so it made sense to send out the ECU while I was away on vacation. UPS sez it will be back in my hands tomorrow :woowoo:

stock motor Jim, stock motor....

My goal is to see if I can wring the 3071 all the way out on stock internals without blowing anything up.. wish me luck :-P

so back to the coupe, its about that time to put the interior back together
I spent a little time building a carbon fiber faced gauge panel for my AIM dash. Came out berry nicah (could use some trim, thats the next step):

I uh, still have more to do

Brakes are finally on (just the left side, I have no room to install the right side until I pull the car out of the garage!)

I have a full set waiting to go in

Nice work. Where did you get the hats? Looks like Richard's old work but I am not sure. I'd like to setup my fronts but since I'm using UrS hubs up fornt the offsets are different....
That AIM dash is pretty cool too. I really like how you get all the data you need in one sight sort of thing. I am pretty sure I will eventually move on to that.

yep, they came off his CQ

yeah, thats a good way to go, saves you money on the 5 lug conversion that I will eventually need to do. I want to run the 255/40/17 5 lugged track wheels I bought for the wagon.

Yeah, and the other killer thing is the ability to datalog all the stuff that isn't logged by 034: fuel pressure, oil pressure, EGT, etc....

No vids, but a couple of gas station shots for proof

Yes, I know the front plate sucks for intercooler blockage but the wastegates are flapped open at the moment anyway so I can concentrate on a good NA tune first.

Gotta love the weeny 2.5" exhaust and the biturbo badge
I need to get my wideband sorted out and then get on to some tuning. Car also needs the AIM wiring sorted out, I'm not getting any CAN communication with the ECU.
But I had a nice 'shit eating grin' moment when I was driving up a hill.. in 5th gear.. at 1100 rpm.. and didn't really have to bother pressing on the gas :-D
