Alright, time for an update. Radiator is buttoned back up, brought the engine up to full temperature and the fan kicks on great and temps stayed nice and steady while I was messing around with idle settings and such.

can anybody guess from the photo which cylinder has the most runout? :o

good guess :)

the flange is so far warped I'm actually concerned about the proximity of the cold side to the head.. I suspect I might not have enough clearance after the flange is surfaced..... we'll see.

holy crap, thats a crap load of warpage right there. good thing the flange is so thick so you can have it planed.

Damn! That's almost as much as your 20VT one had ;)

Me thinks Javad needs some better QC on these things. you have had them for a long time though so I am sure 034 have this under control now.

well, I did a lot of re-welding to this one to make it clear my framerail and I never checked the flange before or after (I know, I know) so the warpage very well could have occured because of the work I did to it.

Marc's V8 flanges certainly didn't leave here like that ;) That's a metric ton of warpage to get missed heading outta here, those things woulda sat like rocking horses on the floor :-P.

Every log manifold like these are flycut flat these days before they leave. No worries there.

Just windin' ya up buddy to see if ya'd bite, looks like I caught somehting ;)

Well I just look at it like this...Is the otherside that didn't needto be modified warped like that? Not that I know of, so it's probably from the extra work it needed. Oh and Marc I guess dennis was right when he said you had a HUGE leak on that EM

a gasket will seal that right:-D :-D

we just welded a flange onto my buddies downpipe and same thing happened...we even had the thing clamped down on all 4 corners.....crazy how thick stainless likes to bend under heat.
