single piece drive shaft?

Post by WI-3B-200 »

I have a 91 200QT. I know someone out there makes a single piece drive shaft. I looked at the drive shaft shop I don't need a fancy carbon fiber one. A local shop said they would cut up my o.e one and make one for $600 but won't warranty it after its made. I could also just get a replacement o.e one for $500. I have to believe that someone out there makes one with a warranty for about that price. Am I wrong? I don't have any lofty power goals for the car someday I'd like to be in the 400-500hp range so it would be nice if I didn't have to change drive shifts again. Thanks for the help.

What's wrong with your current driveshaft?

Nobody offers a 1 piece driveshaft for any T44 or C4 car...they are to long and under load would vibrate or wobble....Hence the 2 piece with carrier bearing is the only option. I'm sure one could be made out of carbon fiber for $1500-$2000 for you...but why?
