I snagged the car back for the weekend and put the front brakes on. I had my DIY brackets bright zinc plated locally for $30 and adapted some porsche hard stub lines to the stock CQ brake hose with 10mm bubble flare unions that were $3ea.
Just read this beginning to end! Nice, how did the paint/body turn out? You never mentioned the color. Gotta get some outdoor pics its almost salt season out there!!
I really think Jerry at Tops body shop is a very nice guy. He has been there for as long as I can remember. the ten day paint job turned into a two month, so far paint job. I am picky when it comes to paint. I judge others cars so I want mine to look right. I can say that the painter is doing a good job on the wet sanding/buffing of the clear. The car is not 100 percent done yet but is actually very close to being ready to pick up and bring home (just in time for winter storage). It has taken much longer than quoted but really that is the way the car paint thing goes. When a shop cuts you a deal it is because they will be using the car as a filler for the slow times.
Here are some picks of it when he brought is outside after starting the wet sanding and buffing. It looks better now and will look better when all put back together.
I have the opportunity to pick up a 20vt in the future and could attempt something similar to this for my 90q 20v. My mechanical skills are somewhat limited so I would like to minimize custom work. What is the simplest way to use the 7a in conjunction with the MC2? I gathered from your project it would look something like this:
- MC2 bottom end - K24 turbo - MC2 turbo manifold - 7a top end - 7a intake manifold
What are you using for fuel management, the 7a Hitachi, or did you find a way to make the CIS work?
