Guys, when running these, please make sure your fuel filtration systme is up to par. That is, make sure you have a new fuel filter and make sure that your filtration setup is appropriate for use with your fuel of choice! Front page has been updated to reflect this.

Have there been some issues with sticking injectors? Mine have been on point sense install.

Re: FID EV14 Injectors - Group Buy
In general, no, but Nick did have a problem with his 2000s just the other day. He cleaned out his fuel filter and it was full of crud. Injectors were covered in the black, sticky goo crap too. They're getting cleaned and potentially replaced if irreversible damage has been done.
The thing to remember is that these injectors are a Bosch part number. I was told that the failure rates from Bosch test data are something like one in ten million! When there is a problem, it is almost certainly because of particulates. Another fun fact is that the 2000s were originally intended for use in large lpg generators which are designed to run for huge amounts of hours. They are a very reliable injector, but of course they still don't like particulates.
The 1200s are a Bosch Motorsport part. They are, in my opinion, one of the finest injectors available, and very robust by design. They'll take particulate abuse a bit better than the 2000s in fact, but you still need to have a good, clean filtration system for any injector.

Re: FID EV14 Injectors - Group Buy
Hey Chris, are there any problems with the 1200's getting sticky from sitting on the shelf? I haven't been able to install them yet because of a longer than expected wait time for other parts. They're still in the packaging, however they weren't shipped with end caps as most that I've seen are. Hopefully I can have them in by the end of the month, but work is KILLIN' me right now!

Re: FID EV14 Injectors - Group Buy
You should be fine. As far as storage after you use them for the first time, if the car will be sitting for a while the best thing thing to do is spray them out with wd40 and store them in a bag with wd40 in it, especially after use with ethanol. Try not to let them sit for a long time with ethanol in them. Again, this goes for any injector. The best thing best to do if you run e85 and have to let the car sit is to run some regular gasoline through them (in the car). They can sit that way for quite some time.

Cool. Thanks.
Re: FID EV14 Injectors - Group Buy
ok, partial threadjack, but there's so much fueling talk in here I cant help it
at a reasonable fuel pressure, an est'd 1000hp worth of pump, on e85, at what point is 8an feed line not going to cut it?
and I may just have to get me some 1200's

Re: FID EV14 Injectors - Group Buy
You definitely wont regret getting a set of these 1200s. I love them.
I can't answer your question on the -8 line, but one data point is that Nick's stock hardlines in his 200 20v supported roughly 783 whp (they were the limiting factor though) ... so there's your 1k HP. Compare hardline ID to -8 ID and you should have a rough idea.

Re: FID EV14 Injectors - Group Buy
i have a video showing how much fuel is flowing thru a 10an line that is 8an at the source and rail.
but it keeps crashing on my phone trying to upload so i will send to YT then on. but 8AN is going to flow more than you can use i think.

Re: FID EV14 Injectors - Group Buy
A little birdie told me that FID will have a new injector out very soon.
FID 1400. As always with FID, the naming scheme is built to compare with ID injectors. As in, the injector is named after the amount it flows at 3 bar on gasoline rather than test fluid. So they flow a bit more than 1400 on gasoline and more than 1300 on test fluid (which is very similar to E100). In other words, they flow about 10% more than an ID 1300.
I think I've expressed here how much I like the FID 1200 (and FIC 1100). They are very reliable and are built for a gasoline engine for motorsports applications. The same can be said for these new 1400s. They are based on a Bosch injector which was made for an OEM. This OEM has very high quality standards. They are built to operate in the OEM car for hundreds of thousands of miles on all of the currently available fuels. I fully expect these to be every bit as awesome as the 1200s, just with a bit more flow.
These will be the ones I use in my car, but I will use ten of them
I will get you guys pricing info as I receive it, but PM me if you're interested and I will give you the project pad hookup price! If you're trying to get rid of your 1200s to move up to these, I hear the SRT and Supra world are big on the FID stuff

Re: FID EV14 Injectors - New 1400s!
The 1400s are supposed to be awesome, and should definitely be a great choice for E98. You have a lot of headroom too if your pump can deal with extra pressure.
