Wiring help request, 80/90/cq under dash and main fuse panel

Post by Afterthought »

I am trying to put the finishing touches on the wiring integration of my AAN into Coupe quattro swap.
The issue: I did not dis assemble the car, this was already done when I got it. I have a few spots in the wiring, connectors I'm not familiar with, under the dash.
BOTH The ABS system and the AC system was deleted/removed, I'm hoping that the connectors that are left are having to do with the ac or ABS but there are a few that may tie into the main fusebox.
These I think may tie in to the fusebox?

These are under the dash, near auxillary relay panel.

Others probably can add more, but I can say that on my car ('90 80q) there are a *lot* of connectors dangling under the fusebox that are not connected to anything! Some of the ones in your photos look a bit familiar, but I don't really remember specifics.

What I'd do is fire the thing up and see which systems are working and which (if any) are not. Then troubleshoot from there.

Oh and it's also perfectly normal to have unconnected terminals on the bottom of the fuse/relay panel. Those panels are "universal" for that era - they're used on a lot of different years/models with a lot of different options. There's probably never been a car made that used every connection.

I think those are all the chassis connectors. I'll have a look when I'm in a car next. In my 4k i cut them all out.

I have lots of random unhooked conectors like that in my 80q as well. I never understood it, but everything worked as far as I know.

OOOH! I think I may have figured it out.

Maybe they're so you can link 2 chassis together for double-decker racing?

I know the car can run without those connectors. I had it running last week. For some reason can't get it to start now but I will leave those alone for a while and focus on that.
Does anyone know the part number for the J114 Oil pressure warning system relay? should be in position #6 in your aux relay panel.
