Great news! Sometime all it takes is a break to get back into it. Can't wait to see some vids!

Re: 91 200 20vt 870CC, Holset, VEMS, fire recovery
Welp just got back from EFI express with some goodies. All of my VEMS stuff that got destroyed with some extra goodies I wanted (EGT, serial cable, etc). Thanks again Marc for all the help. So now I'm pretty committed to getting it done since I dropped a pretty penny on all that stuff.

Waiting on a 3b harness and some small things and that should be it.

Anyone know if 20vt(mc2) and 20vt(3b) knock sensors are interchangeable? I know physically the sensors themselves look different but would they function the same? The connectors appear to be the same also.
I have some 20vt knock sensors but unsure if I should use them or not.

Re: 91 200 20vt 870CC, Holset, VEMS, fire recovery
Also for the TPS are the 20vt the same too? I'm trying to buy one online and feel like they are for a 20vt since it lists 89-91 200
Re: 91 200 20vt 870CC, Holset, VEMS, fire recovery
Sent you a message but it's all functionally the same stuff I think the crank sensors are exactly the same just different bracket. Should have mentioned that about the knock sensors though. Also the 20v used an idle/full throttle switch but a lot of b4's the v6s at least have the same tps as the aan I think and for sure fits a stock 20v throttle body.

Re: 91 200 20vt 870CC, Holset, VEMS, fire recovery
Well. Finally got this out of the way. Kind of a pain. Second time pulling one. New one should go in sometime this week when I get a couple of hours to get frustrated putting the good one in. I was contemplating just hacking them both and wiring in the engine bay portion to avoid pulling it. But I figured I'd stop being lazy and just replace the whole thing and know that is will function correctly. Chopped off the bad part and saved the good stuff in case I need some wires/connectors in the future.

Fun.
Hey, I asked this before, but what brand is that intercooler? Is it a CXracing one? I have the same one if so... not big enough for my 30r

That thing is huge! My car will only fit the TRV185, same dimensions only a 18" long core instead of 25". I'd put that in if it would fit... that's what she said?

Re: 91 200 20vt 870CC, Holset, VEMS, fire recovery
Well it's been hard to find time to work on the 200 with work and playing with the new toy. But got to toy with her a bit.
The RS6 did this first day owning her
Link to video
12.9@106 was the best with a passenger and the 20s on it.

But I did play with the 200 a bit too. Hate running this harness. But I did manage to get all the wiring into the engine bay, run all my VEMS wires and that's about it.
On Saturday I plan to run all the wires under the dash and more or less into the correct area. Then the next day spent plugging and tucking everything away for the harness.
But this makes me happy. An engine bay with wires in it finally lol. Not much but it is progress. Honestly I feel the harness will be the most frustrating and time consuming. As most of the time spent was figuring out how to run things, waiting for things to be ordered I needed and made, etc.

Good first day of ownership on the RS6! Haha, looking good with the 200 too. I'm just going through the wiring harness on the front of mine. I rushed through it and now it's an eyesore. Edit redo...

Re: 91 200 20vt 870CC, Holset, VEMS, fire recovery
Welp got the inside of the harness ran to the driver side the other day.

And then today I routed all the rest of the harness and plugged it all in. Couple of small questions. I was going to check out the Bentley later but figured I'd ask here for now.

Can't remember if these went together. It's the only thing that makes sense to me but the two different colors is throwing me off. Can't find anything else around that both of these can plug into.
This was unused underneath the fuse panel but neither fit onto it.

Also yes I can look at my relay panel map (well maybe since I may have swapped the order), but what relay goes to the black connector, if any? It comes off the engine harness so I would assume it is important but I cannot find a relay I would have removed in the pile of parts I took off to swap these harnesses.
Pretty excited as the wiring part was the scariest to me. Still some wiring left, but nothing major.

Well decided to re-spray the engine bay. Doing it pieces at a time. Scrubbed the engine bay some more and got a lot of the crap off it.
Just did the passenger strut tower area but it already looks amazingly better.

Doing the firewall area tomorrow and maybe the driver strut tower area. Already re-sprayed various brackets that had paint burned off. Also re-did the intake manifold silver.

Repainting the engine bay makes it look so much better! It's like there was never a BBQ in the engine bay. Glad to see you're making progress.

Color matched spray paint from automotivetouchup.com I've ordered numerous things from them over the years and their color matching is always on point.

I cleaned the shit out of it, lightly sanded the paint to scuff it and resprayed it.

Yeah I'm liking the way it is coming out. Can't wait to get out there today and make more progress. Then I can start mounting things and re-plumbing them again.
