Carlisle 2014 *THIS WEEK* :)

Post by AudiSport4000 »

Project Pad'ers :)

It's our 11th year for the Audi Club at Carlisle! All Audis--all years--welcome!

The show/get together = Friday May 16 thru Sunday May 18, 2014 (this is the Import and Kit Nationals show) held in lovely Carlisle, PA at the fairgrounds, right off of the PA Turnpike.

If you're new to this...search the forum for "Carlisle" and you'll see a ton of posts. Or go to http://www.audi4000.com for the past years pics! It's not a "ricer" style Import show, and has tons of cool BMWs, Saabs, Volvos, Subies, Kit Fieros, VWs, other randoms, and of course Audi's!

Many folks arrive bright and early on Friday morning to set up camp and get acclimated to the grounds, visit the swap meet/vendor area, or just hang out!

Market Cross has been booked for Friday at 6pm! When you email me please specify if you would like to join and how many will be in your party.

HOW TO:

We're all going to register under one name--The Audi Club. (It's actually on a drop-down on the registration site)

The direct link at the bottom of this post will let you register online if you have a credit card.

Or to check out Carlisle's main site, go to http://www.carsatcarlisle.com. Go to "View Our Events" at the top of the page and the Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals will be the 3rd listing down. Click the "Online showfield registration" link to register!

The cost is $35 for the first car you bring. This $35 includes you, one guest, and your car for the entire weekend! It appears the price has gone up a bit, please take note!
On that same link, you can also register to camp for $15, and you can register for both in one transaction. Camping is on-site, near where we park our cars, and there's a shower/bathroom facility with electricity, warm showers, flushing toilets, lovely bathroom attendants (Butch and Angie!), etc. If you plan to partake in any boozing that may occur, I strongly suggest camping so there's no issues with driving to your hotel afterwards.

You will receive your window stickers in the mail a few weeks prior to the event and your goodie bag will be available once you arrive on Friday/Saturday!

You know the drill: PLEASE EMAIL ME ONCE YOU REGISTER: theaudiclub@gmail.com (please be sure to include your name, online handle, vehicle, where you are coming from, and if you will be joining us for dinner at Market Cross). This will really help out when it comes to planning for lunch on Saturday as we need an accurate count to accommodate everyone who will be participating.

Stay tuned for updates!! :) :)

INFORMATION REGARDING FOOD ON SATURDAY IS BELOW

This year will be a bit different to try and streamline last years. Menu will be similar with the grill providing chicken, dogs and burgers. Sides will consist of baked beans, macaroni salad, potato salad, chips, brownies, cookies, pretzels, all the condiments one would expect and maybe a few additional things to eat. Will also have soda and bottled water.. (ALCOHOL IS NOT PROVIDED SO BYOB)

I also understand some of you like to contribute food as well anyway and there are some super special moon cookie pie things so you are more than welcome to do so but please contact me so that I am aware of anything that may be coming.

My team and I will be getting everything locally and bringing it with us this time so that they have more time to enjoy the show. That said there are two things to cover: I may need a couple volunteers to help with setup and serving and there needs to be pre-payment from as many as possible please. I understand some of you old timers still crank up your internet, and may not have paypal so for those of you that aren't on the boards, or that don't have the means I can collect cash at the event. What is this all going to cost you?

We ended last year with about $100 surplus which will cover most the grill.

$20 per person, kids $5. This is your entire Saturday for food. Lunch will be started to serve around 12:30 and we will cook until everyone is full. Diner will then be started around 5:30 and again cooking until everyone has had something. Munching in between is welcome. Also not opposed to firing up the grill later in the evening if people need something to eat.

Please Paypal payment to me as a "gift" at my paypal address: eurotuned85@yahoo dot com. We will also be adjusting the line structure at the tables a bit to get people through slightly quicker this year. So hopefully everyone enjoyed last year, and is on board to have another great Carlisle!!
As always any questions the above is my email, I would be happy to take any suggestions, or questions you may have.

I will be a last minute again, I'm sure. Depends on how life is going at that point, as I have a few life changers ahead of me.

LOL... having Hank's hands in my car did cause it to blow SOMETHING ;)

This:

+ starting fluid

equals:

In reality, I think it was a plot to sucker me into buying 07k parts from him :)

It would be nice to actually DRIVE the car to the show vs. towing it. It runs now, just not great (need to get time on street/rollers to tune it properly).

I doubt Marc would. I think it's just too much work and stress. But I know he asked last year if people wanted it, so maybe he is crazier than we thought?

I was planning to come again this year...got approval from the wife and all. Planned to register tonight, then got a call that BF Goodrich is flying me to Utah that weekend through Tuesday for all access trip to Miller Motorsports Park. See you guys at the show in 2015!
