Link G4 Extreme
Link G4 Extreme
Anyone have any experience or know of anyone using this engine management?
Re: Link G4 Extreme
same as vipec.
its a decent ecu. we use it instead of vems if the project requires drive by wire. at least till vems comes out with their DBW option later this year.

Re: Link G4 Extreme
I know a couple guys using it in the 944 world. They seem to have good things to say about it. There was a guy on MG that had a Vipec installed on his UrS, but that's the only Audi install I've seen.

Re: Link G4 Extreme
It's a good ECU. I like the software interface.
Good documentation too.

Yeah. I hear it is very stable and precise even with rpm's around 11,000

do you know if that 11,000 rpm car was using stock sensors?

Re: Link G4 Extreme
I'll have to ask. The comparisons were done on Subarus and Mazdas and only one Audi mentioned. The main things that were said was that holding steady timing/engine speed signal throughout the whole rpm range and delivering a clean/reliable spark control and fuel injectors. I'm not a tuner , don't try to pretend to be one, and don't know most of the "lingo" but I hear people reporting problems of timing issues, losing signal, ect. What was specifically said was having a timing light on the engine and watching it stay dead steady past 11,000 rpm or more when others have a hard time holding timing and can jump around even while holding a steady rpm. I know placements, location, brands, wrong installation, grounding issues , etc probably cause variables of problems but that was the general opinion on a large handful that was mentioned.
