What should I use to fill in rubber?

So I have a new drive shaft carrier bearing for my B3. I would like to use something to fill in the void in the rubber. I have heard people mention windshield urothane to fill up engine and trans mounts, but dont know which to use. Obviously I want somthing that isnt going to become hard when it cures. I would need somthing that would become stiff, yet stay plyable. Anyone BTDT and can tell me what they used?

I've done 3 UrSpig center support bearings with 3M window weld, no issues with any so far.

That's exactly what I needed to know. Any idea how long it took for it to cure? That is quite the void to fill. Thanks

you know, that title is a bit suggestive. you just have to plunge in and see what's the reference.

I thought about that after I posted it.

Then I figured I should let it go and see what came of it. Low and behold, I go the answer I was looking for first

Any major issues doing this to an older but still intact bearing? Maybe even while still installed in the car?

I would think that as long as you support the shaft a bit so it isnt "sagging" while it dries, it might work out?

I know.. I'm being lazy...

I did mine on my coupe with RTV. I'll have to check it out while she's in storage to see how it is holding up.

I would imagine that would work fine. I had thought about doing it with mine. I would say as long as it is centered in the housing like it should be, it would be fine.

RTV was mentioned by Elaw over on MG. I was thinking that RTV might be a little too soft though. Would be nice to see how one that has been done with it is holdign up though.
