Type 44 brake upgrades?

Post by gtn116 »

What is the cheapest brake upgrade available for the type 44 cars? I have G60 fronts OR UFO at my disposal. Also, any suggestions for the rear too. I have to do pads and rotors, I figure might as well upgrade while I need it.

If the UFO's are in working condition that would be the best/cheapest choice. Everything else will require bigger wheels and more $$$. When the UFO's stop working you can convert the upright accept the HP2's or touareg/cayenne 4 and 6 pots. Just note you will need V8Q/200 20v front control arms with the 19mm ball joint.

How do I go about modifying the upright? And which rotor would I use with each upgrade?

Tourareg 4 and 6 pistons have the same bolt spacing and offset as HP2's?

Yes same bolt spacing as the HP2's so they can be bolted to the UFO housing's just the same as doing the HP2 swap not sure on the exact rotor I believe it's from a Merc but the hub bore needs to be opened up a little. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthrea ... &styleid=8

Very cool, thanks!

too bad I won't be able to run 15's with them, oh well... maybe some UrS Fuchs... or 16" mesh style reps.
