~450 whp, 28 psi on a 35R size turbo will do it. The 01E's are nice, you just have to properly rebuild them, and don't be abusive with your second gear shifts. The rebuild 6 speed I am currently running has been problem free for quite a while now.

I think the transmissions you mention above ate 01A's, which don't stand a chance either. 450+whp= 01E, like it or not.

They were all second gear failures. If you have a locker, which you don't, you can leave it unlocked and the wheelspin will save the transmission. Not sure how your torsen will act. These were all 4kq 016 boxes we blew up. Some speculate yours could be stronger, but I would not count on it.

Wow this puts a big hitch in my budget for this build...I haven't even priced a a 01e or a rebuild...who did you use for the rebuild JHM? Thanks for the info as well. I'm very happy to have people willing to help, makes trial and error occur less.

I did mine myself, you need to have a press, and a few tools. There is also a video that shows you how to do it. JHM can do it, they also sell the video and all of the parts if you wan to do it yourself. It's pretty easy, just a little time consuming the first time. I spent a weekend on mine.

You should be able to pick up an 01E for $500-$1000, the parts for the rebuild are around $800 from Scott

I have a 5 speed 01E that I have no use for and would sell for $500. It shifts great, it may or may or not lock up second over time, depends on how hard you beat on it. You could rebuild it, or use it to get started and try and find a cheep 6 speed to rebuild.

I would also make you a deal on the tall deck stroker block and pistons if you bought all three :)

Thought it was pretty simple to just add the 6th gear into a 5-speed 01e?

whoa, I never realised that. I want me another gear! I guess I just never thought about it since the 5spd worked nicely. I'll have to get a hold of Scott and find out what parts would cost. I'm no stranger to rebuilding manual trannies. and I prob have most of the tools needed. good thing the parts have started selling that I had listed locally. all I needed was the first domino to fall and the rest seem to follow. Good to know, thanks! Man, forum's are just the best invention ever!

where did it put your RPM's compared to fifth? and, do you get decent mileage with it, or did it move you out of the efficiency zone?

Man, are you trying to get my fiancé to leave me! Haha I'll let you know ASAP. That 5 spd 01E sounds nice. Especially since I didn't know about adding the 6th gear. After this weekend, funds are a little low. A friend was In a financial bind, needless to say I now own a new desktop 3d printer! Anyone on here into guns? As soon as I get more filament, I'm going to try to make a AR-15 upper...after the design period of course.

Haha yeah about that...the guy in the documentary really takes it to the next level. His AR content looks pretty nice. I even saw trigger assemblies on there.

No need to be jealous, this is on the low end of desktop 3d printers. It's the makerbot replicator 2x. Known for being over marketed I guess. I figured for the price I paid it should be a great starter setup.

P.S
If any federal or governmental agency should come across any of the previous content, no firearms will be made. It was a joke. This was bought to try and make badass Audi parts :D

Does anyone have experience or know anyone that has run a eBay cast manifold? No way in hell will I pay $800 plus for a cast manifold, regardless of who makes it. I can have a serious tube manifold for couple hundred more bucks! I did talk to ATP, he said he could machine a k26 housing to fit the gt3582. It would be .82a/r, full size t04s compressor housing. Price was damn impressive, little south of 1400 shipped. I left it as I'd let him know as soon as I figured the EM situation.

Here is the manifold in question...looks like the runners might be bigger? Maybe it's just the casting, I dunno.

I run an STR cast log manifold. It's beefy as hell. It fit the 30r 4" anti surge housing no problem. Under $200
