vems bluetooth adapter? My machine found the adapter, but it shows up as disconnected. VT found the ecu once or twice randomly but doesn't actually connect. What am I missing here?

You have to connect your machine to the Bluetooth adapter first (go to devices and printers - you'll have to enter the pin and connect). Then take note of what COM port it is on and set up vems tune, or just do the auto scan.

Thanks Ed. I did those steps but for some reason VT was being flaky with it. I read somewhere(vemssupport, I think) about disabling AIM in outputs on the ECU, in addition to in the preferences in VT. I had it disabled in VT, but not on the ECU. After disabling it on the ECU, it seems to work! Wireless tuning FTW!

You have to disable baudrate change, as bluetooth adapters are more happy with constant baudrate

If it connects but the connection is not constant, try a lower baudrate.
If you still have problems than please run vemstune-c.exe and chech if there is any errors on the console.

Ok. I disabled baudrate change. It was working decently before, but I disabled it anyway. I left the rate at 19200, which was what it has been using up to this point anyway. It still has some trouble with an initial connection at 19200 and 9600. Once connected, it's fine. I tried to run the executable you mention, but an error comes up saying it isn't installed. Is this not a part of VT?

Which version of Vemstune are you using? which firmware are you using?

VemsTune-c.exe is the same program, but it opens another window on the back as console, so you can see more output.

Sdid you try changing the baudrate of the bt adapter by connecting from telnet?

If you didnt maybe you need to lower the internal baudrate of the bt adapter

The only baudrate I changed was through VT. I don't know anything about connecting to the adapter through telnet? I'm assuming you mean the adapter plugged in to the serial port of the ECU and not my computer?

I have the VEMS BT-Serial adapter plugged in to the serial port of the ECU and a Rockfish usb BT module plugged into my computer. Are you talking about changing the baudrate of the adapter plugged into the ecu or my computer?

you have to ask your supplier, how to change the baudrate, but probably it is with the same method with mine.

connect to adapter by terminal, and send the necessary commands.

Disabling AIM on the ECU and in VT was the biggest difference. I'm pretty sure that was my problem. I also disabled the baudrate change also since I had read that was helpful to some guys over on the vemssupport boards. For my computer, making the initial connection takes a couple of tries. After that, it connects right away.

Are you having problems with a BT setup?
