K26 turbo Hot side studs

Post by DE80q »

I took apart a K26, and all the studs that hold the center in broke. I have them out, but cant find any info on replacements. I can't imagine they are just standad steel studs. I would think they would be at least heat treated. I know they are M8, but haven't done any other measureing yet. Does anyone know where to pick these studs up?

I could also use replacements for the M10 downpipe mount studs. 1 was broken and the others didnt fair so well coming out.

I did find some long hardened set screws at work that are pretty much the perfect length for all. The problem is I dont think they will fair so well with all of the heat cycles a turbo will see. :idunno:

I've had success with various bolts, studs, etc at local industrial supply or fastener outlets - they'll have the grade you need and can recommend alternatives. If there isn't anywhere local to you I'd email 034 or Full Race or somewhere that sells K26 turbos/kits - they should be able to help...

I kind of stopped looking after Kuma sent me his with all the studs in great shape. I did find some heat rated studs on McMaster Car though. I never fully sized them up to order any though.
