Depends on the car and if the owner wash it when spring is coming I guess. My B3 is in the salt and snow for more than 20 years, and it's not that rusty, only 2/3 points on top of a wheel + some down the doors.

Lol at those tires Justin. That is epic.

So martin informed me that 88 90q front single piece struts will bolt up and have wider caliper mounting so I can use rs2 etc brackets and my bbk. So the hunt begins... I put in an inquiry with Shokan as well. Anyone here parting an 88 90q?

Or does someone wanna make me some brackets? Haha. If all the kit needs is brackets, SOMEONE has got to want to make some :-) I'll have to play around next time I have my wheels off.

FYI I have an 88 90q that has 2 piece front struts. I even have an early model car with 1 piece rears. Maybe the 80q's used single piece fronts? I just wasnt aware of any 90q's that came with single fronts, but as usual, I am probably wrong :)

Stoked right now, Jason @ VEMS let me know my ecu is good to go and I'm hoping it arrives by the end of the week.

So here's some food for thought - I had major issues because the insulating sheet at the top of the case was compromised (by me). It fried 3 ignition drivers and two injection fets. I'm wondering if things getting shorted out or doubled voltage etc could have caused my engine woes. At this point I have no idea what was going on in there. Regardless I'm going to make foxing sure that my timing is perfect.

I am happy for two reasons. One, your car will be alive soon! Two, I finally get the title of this thread. Just had to say it out loud a few times ;)

When sliding the ecu back in the drivers scraped along it which I couldn't see /tell. Bummer.

And Jim and Phil - LOL. Certainly suits my ownership experience so far.

Ouch! How easy is it for this to happen? Having opened mine a couple of times, I'd hate to have damaged something! Perhaps I'll put a little note in the N80 provision write up warning of this...

I think it was when sliding the main board back in. The fets /drivers scraped it. OR it could have been when sliding the insulating/holding bars in but I have a feeling it was the drivers on the board. Just bent up too much, or if you put it in the slot above where it's supposed to go.

It was very early 90q, I had a set till I threw them out last year, the only difference between them and 4kq and provision for ABS sensor and larger spacing for the caliper brackets. They also had the hubs that used nut on the CV as opposed to later which used a bolt.

Well I buttoned up a bunch of things today - injector wiring, headlight fixing (wtf it was barely mounted!), air filter install, cleaned up and painted some do-dads, mounted the new coolant reservoir, and got the boost/oil pressure gauges in (still have to wire both). Had the day off so I made use of it! It also appears that my ECU may be here tomorrow, or at the latest Monday. Tomorrow would be SIIIICK!

I know it's a small piece but I'm still kinda proud of it - fabricated my own gauge mount for the vent. Used some thin-ish mild steel and went to town with some basic tools - grinder, die grinder, hacksaw, and a punch kit my dad uses for getting big conductor into boxes. Finally, some plasti-dip and this is what I ended up with! It's not machine-perfect and I kinda like it that way. At least it fits tight and won't fall out and doesn't look like a cheap plastic shit hackjob.
