Do you have the ability to just build the boost piping out of aluminum? That would be the cleanest way, then you don't have situations like the silicone snake that feeds the charge side of the BPV, and you can make it steer clear of the exhaust as much as possible. I just made the pieces for mine and had my good friend tig them all together at a good rate.

Also, separate thought, what do you want to do about that poly piece?

you're going to cook that silicone in short order if it's that close to the manifold. Remember, the exhaust is coming out in excess of 1000 degrees on heavy boosting.

That is pretty close, but can't you angle it towards the rail, and then instead of a strait section, just put a 30 degree bend back to the old plumbing?

I hear you, this is why I'm thinking of going with some solid pipes... I had to do this as a temporary solution to move the car around ect... I will say this though, underneath that silicone is a solid mild steel pipe that transitions from 2.5" to 2" ...

Oh no... Not at all... That was a minor tweak needed on my "cat delete" pipe...

OB...search my thread for some pics of my charge pipe. It goes over the frame rail towards the fender, bends 90 over the oil cooler, dips down and then bends 90 towards center line e of the car into the intercooler. Its a snake, but works great until I move the oil cooler to the stock intercooler location. I did it that way to avoid routing it near the header.

I've thought about running that air filter and a trial 50mm BOV to simplify the piping. Lemme know how the filter fits behind the headlight. Also, where did you get it? I haven't found one for what I considered a decent price for an air filter.

Looks great!! But...those mushroom air filters have been known to implode and destroy compressor wheels. Get rid of that thing

I thought the HKS filter was the only one that stood the test of time?... Can't I just use it to break the car in?...

I'd read that about them as well, but Casey hasn't seemed to have an issue with his yet.

That's one of the pics I was referring to...I think there may be another cuz I know that one is hard to see. What are your plans for the PCV suntion from the valve cover?

the chinese ebay $20 knock off mushroom filters yes, definitely known to implode. I haven't had a problem with the HKS ones.

I must say, that is one gawd damn sexy setup! :) Oh and just my 2 cents, I personally am rocking a Spectre filter with good results.

I have seen genuine HKS filters eat compressors, much less the knockoff versions. Why don't you use the hoses from ATP that I suggested? There is plenty of room for a radius 4" to 3 or 3.5" 90 that can be run to a real filter that won't break down in the heat of a turbo'ed engine bay.

Looks great, but that intake pipe is going to bang on the frame rail any time the motor moves. Why not route it on the other side of the frame rail?

Also you need to route a vacuum line to the top of the BOV

How much movement do you typically see... And in what direction do you usually see the motor move?...

EDIGREG wrote:Also you need to route a vacuum line to the top of the BOV

You could see the vacuum line in one of the pics...
