Whoa. I upped the suspension yesterday for the new rubber, three turns in rear and two in front. After I put the tranny in tonight I had massive rub, so up another three rotations in the rear and one in the front. I still have to put my son, his carseat, and our suitcase in the back seat! Shit son! I'll have to find someone with a jack to lower it for the ride home

Duuuuude. That sounds like one hell of a rough trip! At least you made it home in on piece! Just give yourself some time to take a break, I guarantee in a few weeks, you'll be missing that satisfying woosh sound and you'll want it back on the road.

It was great to meet you, and I wish we could have talked longer, but you and I both had our hands full (you with your son, me with my bunny lol). I'm sorry to hear how rough your trip was, but glad you got home safely. If nothing else, this will be a good lesson learned (whatever the issue is). Best of luck to you finding the problem and fixing it!

I'm glad you made it home Matt. I didn't take off on you guys, I was actually behind you in Niagara Falls. I texted Martin telling him I pulled off the at that ramp you guys were at. I had two OPP cruisers parked directly across from me so I decided I should get off the shoulder. I waited in a parking lot waiting for you guys to roll in but then I saw you guys fly past that exit. I tried catching up but you were way ahead and showed no signs of slowing down. For a while I thought you guys were being jerks not letting me catch up. lol Chrissy kept saying "they must think we never stopped and are ahead of them" lol
Anyways, sorry for all your troubles. I have no doubt you'll be back on the boost soon. Glad you could make it!
It was good to meet you Matt, and I'm very glad you made it back. Sorry to hear how stressful it was, but honestly pumped that you drove your own car into your driveway

Matt, I don't blame you for wanting to park the car forever, but do the due diligence and make sure water isn't in the cylinders ruining them. Pull the head, and atleast get all the water out.
Was good meeting you, albeit briefly Matt, I'm the guy that was parked next to you with the big intercooler'd 20v 200 that offered tools, it sucked seeing your weekend consumed by work but the car really did look awesome and at least it made it the whole way there and back under it's own power. Can't wait to see the progress once you recoup and have some energy for it again!

A leak down would be a good idea before pulling it off.
No fire ring on #3 would be an easy explanation for low compression in that cylinder, hopefully all it needs is a head gasket.
I think your turbo oiling needs a closer look. Hank and I checked out your turbo before he got on the plane and the bearings are completely shot...there was no interference on the compressor housing. For a brand new CHRA there's no way for that to happen besides being starved of oil. And this is the second CHRA that has been toasted on that car, right?
We have been in contact with the chra. It is certainly a contamination issue.
I am sick this week Matt, and I can only explain it as shaking your hand and then picking my nose as I tried to think of what was wrong with your setup
I was really getting worried when Hank chose his bed to be the one right next to mine, especially after everyone (except Hank) was complaining about how sore they were from sleeping in the same trailer as him the previous morning... glad I had my girlfriend as a buffer between us.

I had an hour to work on the car this morning so I have the head 100% ready for removal, save the head studs. I'll get the head off at some point this weekend.
There are some positives to take home from Carlisle. One is that I really like the new tires. I think the highlight of the weekend, other than being able to spend lots of time with Maddex, was one time when we were pulling away from a toll booth. I was beside John and Chrissy in the S2. We both accelerated pretty slowly and were side by side. I of course had a plan the whole time, which was to romp on it as soon as he looked at me. Which he did. And so I romped on it and that glorious I5 ripping noise combined with the blow off valve PSHHH put a smile on John's face as I looked on my rearview mirror. I thought that if the car can put a smile on people's faces I did something right.
Another thing I noticed, which is a bit more speculation, is that Dan Weldon's vr6 pte6262 build and 4foxsnakes were pretty even when zipping around on the highway. We never had a side by side run but there were a few times when I think we both got on it at about the same time. He dynod his car and at 16psi and iirc made 330 ish whp? I could be off with that number but regardless I think my car was performing quite well for base tune and ~18psi

remove head, check stuff, inspect cylinder walls, hope everything's good and alls I need to do is replace head gasket. Doubt it at this point. If more work is required, car is being retired to the shop for... a while.
