Today I dropped off the D2 S8 calipers I purchased for my B5 to be powdercoated and I think I have decided that I'll install them on the 200 instead. It deserves the parts more.

Now, what rotors are normally used. I think I recall ur20v saying that I can use B6 S4 rotors. Does that sound correct?

And it's the little additions that really make me happy...like an extra gear will be nice. lol

It's too bad I have UFO strut housings :(. I'll end up making my own brackets or just using some from a B5 S4.

At first, I was skeptical of the length of 2nd gear however now I am thinking it's actually pretty nice. 2nd to 3rd to 4th is a lot of fun. You can hear how close 3-4 is in the video. I love that.

That being said, it does not shift as nice as the 016, yet is still better than my B5. There is a break in time for syncrhos though, so it may get better.

Not much has been happening with the car, lol. I've been working hard on trying to finish my damn kitchen renovations so I can live in a house that I've been paying a mortgage on since sept of last year. FAIL! Hopefully getting done soon!

So it's been a bit since I've updated...

Something is up with my shift linkage and I haven't given it much time yet. I plan to try and get it figured out tomorrow. The linkage was working great when I swapped the transmission and everything but then I started to feel some odd tension. In the shifter assembly, there is an "alignment" pin that is attached to the stabilizer that the actual shift rod goes over (people who have seen the shifter box should understand what I'm referring to). The pin was rubbing on the shift rod. Is that pin even necessary?

Either way, I pulled out the linkage and assume that my lengthen job was off slightly. I proceeded to bend the linkage to correct the issue. Well, so far after three "tweaking" attempts it's worse. It seems almost like it's rubbing on the center diff housing... I hope to get it figured out tomorrow or Thursday.

Also, the inner drivers side CV boot died. I reused an old one so I guess that was my fault. lol. I'll take care of that tomorrow as well.

Also, little easter egg knowledge (you probably know though) if you don't feel like looking at your brake pad wear indicator, press on the left stalk on the cluster (the one you twist for dimmer & setting the clock) press it firmly and it will clear that display until the fault happens again.

Went to the track last night on pump gas. Far from impressed. I ran into traction issues all night. Literally blistering the front left tire.

First run of the day was 12.8 @ 109. Meh. 2.0 60ft... Just meh.

Best run was the last run and I basically help the launch control during the launch (moving while on launch-control) as a form of traction control. Cut a 1.7something and clicked off a 12.2 @ 112. Best MPH/ET I've got on pump fuel but it could have hit 11's.

Not my best but the transmission and clutch held up well anyway. Vids later.

Hey Nick. I was a little negative in your posting about saying it would take too long to hand polish the lenses. I kind of dropped the ball on that. I met a guy today that works with glass as a hobby. He said that it is actually the best and safest thing to do. He said you have to get the right stuff first. He was telling me that Grainger sells a six piece set of diamond abrasive sanding blocks. He said the best thing is to hand polish it with the diamond pads and then he would stick it in the glass kiln for a short time to really make the surface crystal clear. He was saying that you couldn't do it for too long or else you could risk the lens exploding. He seems to be familiar with the process and seems pretty comfortable doing it. I believe he said the 6 piece kit was about $120.00. I haven't looked it up yet. I will try to get a set of E-codes again to give it a try.

You should sometime. I'll have to double check but I think around 65mph I am at 2500ish rpm.

Is he interested in performing this? I'd be willing to let mine go out as guinea pigs. Would suck if one got damaged but the end result would be worth it for sure.

You know I would've done this had I known about it earlier... Stock location big turbo might be perfect for you... Heck run it on a stock block and see where it dies on e85... For r&d of course...

Anything over a 5858 is going to be a fail on a stock or even an upgraded rs2 unit. Big back pressure, and a lack of wastegate opening to get rid of the extra energy. At Wagner money, a tube header is just a couple of tanks of gas difference in price. It would be interesting to see if the cold side would clear the manifolds without spacing it out too. If it can't, the downpipe would need modification too.

Nice thing is, it's the turbo that I want (that or the HTA3794r) and I can always swap out the exhaust housing for a tial and a Hank manifold/dp. This would certainly be temporary as I am well aware it's not ideal. Hell, my setup now is far from ideal.
