Chasis ears as Knock detection? Thoughts...

Post by DuBistS4 »

Chasis ears is pretty much the same thing as a knock sensor right? I'm pretty sure its a piezo-electric chip mounted to an aligator clip. You could just clamp it to your knock sensor and ur done. I tried the efi express diy tool but I think my knock sensors are no good or I phucked up the wiring some how. Anyways I have access to chasis ears. Would this work just as well as a real knock detection tool?

No, they will be too "noisy", so to speak. Knock sensors are cheap, and some might even fall right into your pocket at the local pick'n'pull... why are you trying to half-ass it, anyway?
