Next on the to do list is modifying the c pillar.

For the people that don't know, the sport quattro C pillar is different than the coupe C pillar.
Both cars use the same rear window, however in the sport quattro the rear window sits at a steeper angle.

So modifications are required.

In these pictures you can see what's required to get the sheet metal to match the Carbon Fibre
sport quattro roof.

Cheers,

Craig Cook.

Still final prep required. Grining welds etc. but you get the idea.

Finally my body kit was done. 8-) :D

I opted for the full Carbon Fibre version.

The hood and front grill still have to be done yet.

I'm really happy with it. Lot's of trimming to do, but I will spend the time
to make sure it fits correctly.

Cheers,

Craig Cook

After drooling over Mike's floor on his sport quattro build, I though bollocks to this.

I spent the day cutting the floors out completely. I'm going to re- do the whole floor. It's going to
be better, and way stronger than the original sport quattro. :D

I'm also going to add box tubing like the factory rally cars, and my urq project.

Anyhoo a few pics of the day's events.

Cheers,

Craig

Very nice work. I like the fact that there's 3 of these builds going on up there between friends, and each is different in some way. Have you guys considered putting mounting provisions for the b5 shift box? I'm assuming these cars will get some sort of 01e, and with the heavy chassis modifications going on, it would be a perfect time to get away from sloppy b2 shifting.

Again, very very nice work, keep it up!

Thanks for the kind works. Yes 01e transmissons for sure. I'm hoping to use the factory rally car gearshift set up. Martin has one, so that is the current plan.

My floor is going to be extensively modified. This is the fun part for sure.

I started drawing up the gearshift assembly. The plan is to get it 3d printed to verify fit etc.

I've attatched a pic of the first part I drew for the shift linkage.

Cheers,

Craig

Forgive me if I've forgotten some of my Sport Quattro part history. Wouldn't this be able to be done with a 4k and a Couple GT rear as long as you didn't want the true shorty Sport Quattro ???
Thanks

That is great to hear. Not sure why my dumbass didn't put that together before when I was messing with a rusty UrQ.
Sorry for the thread jack but this just gave me some ideas to actually have some sort of a Sport Q rep again one day.

It may not look like it but I have easily over 10 hours in the floor so far.

I'm really glad I cut the floors out completely. It gives me so much freedom to build the floor the way I
want to.

I decided to use 2x1" tubing as opposed to the 2.2" tubing that I used on my urq floor. This dimension just seems
a little easier to work with seeing as I'm going to have a completely flat floor.

I also added a hump for the exhaust.

Here a a few pics of the unfinished floor. Not done yet but you get the idea.

Cheers,

Looks good Craig. I think that you are on the right path as far as pulling the old out and starting from scratch on the floor. Trying to weld or otherwise join old pieces together is difficult at best. Remodeling is always more difficult it seems. Nice work. That would have been about 50hrs for me.
