S1 power steering pump?

Post by Marc »

here is a strange one guys. Janis sent me an email from a company looking to repair what they say is a 1982 S1 (I think they mean a sport quattro) that is an Audi of America car. Fairly sure they are talking about the car John B. stuffed into a ditch.

The part number given appears to be euro only, but I dont know enough about the part number interchange to say what the difference is. The body looks very similar to most of the US pumps I've seen.

Anyways, here are the details:

The correct pump is on the left. Part # 035 145 155 H Also, the front of the body has AE8 and 123B cast in it. Car is a circa 1982 Audi S1 Quattro. Thank you for any sourcing you can find. We need the pump here by Wed morning (4/3) at the latest.

It MIGHT take a more standard rebuild kit, if the internals are still okay. Like the 035198049A, which is to be used on the 034145165X pump. X is just rebuilt in VAGdom.

Why not ask James Bufkin or Bobby Unser?

I gave Marc contact info at ZF, not sure whether he was successful in finding a replacement.
