That defies logic, unless the 200 for whatever reason has an drivetrain centered in the bay unlike the URQ/4000/CQ/90/80

You're forgetting that the T44 was the best Audi ever built I guess. :D Lol. But really, maybe my quick research is incorrect.

I have swapped axles in all willy-nilly-like on my 200 without knowing which was supposed to go on which side, etc. so that seems to support Nick's argument. Nick, why don't you just go outside and measure? Aren't the out of the car? lol :idunno:

100mm. 108 generally came on autos and high hp stuff.

Using your resource page and hours of my time (while working, lol) the only axles I could find in the range of the correct length (sold in the US) for the drivers side were 1990 Audi 90 2.3l mt's right axle or left axle. I could always use my inner CV's from the 200's axles.

Make sure the splines on the inner CVs match up on the splines of the axle shaft.

Or, you could always use a set of rear diff output flanges and catheter bolts from a B5 A4 quattro (not S4) on the 01E and that way you can use 100mm CVs. (If you would like to go this route I have several pairs available)

Nick, send me several good pics of the glass lenses. Ism working with someone that has two options for us. (Possibly) even if it comes down to it, he thinks he can polish the spectrum ridges out and make it clear. He has the abrasives and the machine. If not we are looking at pouring new lenses. He is a custom glass guy here in houston.

New update, I talked to the owners son and he is big into cars and seemed to be pretty interested in doing it. He knew exactly what I was talking about and what I wanted to do. He really wants a glass lense to see what he has to work with. He is not sure he can get the polisher inside of the lense because of the sides but there was talk about cutting out the front and fusing in a clear front too. He also mentioned about making a stainless mold and pressing the glass over the mold but the sides might be the deal breaker on that. Main thing is that I need to get a lense even if it is a junky one.

I could probably arrange that but I want to be able to drive the car once the transmission is in. Lol.

How long would he need them?

eh, don't worry about doing that. I might give him the glass from my headlight and tell him that it will be really similar to it. And when it gets closer and more serious. I will get a pair again or see if you want to send yours to him. I want him to show me it can be done first. I dont want to experiment with e codes.

I also have a spare set of US spec glass if needed. It is a decent amount different though.

Did a little today. Confirmed both 200 axles are identical. Topped off the 01E with G005000 fluid.

Removed the old clutch and flywheel:

Installed 7a flywheel:

And installed the shifter box:

Shifter box still need a tiny bit of modifying to bolt the shift boot bracket back in but I ran out of time. More tomorrow.

Anyone know if the heated seat controls are supposed to light up? Neither of mine do and I also looked for "running light" power at each of the harnesses and didn't find any. Any idea?

They have their own little bulbs which can be replaced, though not exactly easily.

i'm trying to get ''up to speed'' with where you are at... The Euro V8 shift box is in with minimum issues, you are using a 7A flywheel, your 200 front axles are the same length on passenger and driver side, and you are pretty close to putting the O1E in? What clutch is that? Do you know of a foot pound rating for it?
