ahhhh. good to be home. this, has to be my favorite shot of all time. this is getting big poster made, my phone screens, my desktops. pretty rare shot like this.

Image

i was not home for even ten hours when i was at my friends house to pick up the trailer and car. thats how bad i wanted to be home. we got in to our house ~1AM sunday morning, and i was there to pick up @ 10:30.

and even then, i had to go start a project less than 30 hrs from landing, that i knew nothing about. no rest for the wicked i guess.

but the car, yeah it has sat. nothing has been done except brainstorming on my part. not like i am in any hurry really. i never get to make the openers, nor do i make hardly any of the T-n-T's.

but i have been doin stuff. ordered the new ID-1600 injectors. why? i dunno, she (the car) needed some money thrown at her. they will be better... that was one of the next steps, the ID2200's. but this new release has made it simpler for my choice. not so much overkill.

also, i bought a new firesuit. yeah yeah, my other one isnt hardly used. but its a pain in the ass, a 1 pc suit. it'll be easier.

and this AM, i was bored. so i refloored the trailer. it is a new trailer, but i was unhappy with the flooring. it is 3/4", single layer. but the seams and joints had some mushy feel to them. especially at the top of the ramp. i plated over with another layer of 1/2", and turned the ply the opposite way. covered all seams, different stagger. much more solid feel to it now.

Chub and Red had some to do with it. she was my second pair of hands and he just played construction worker. he just couldnt wait to get out there and wear my hardhat....

who took a vacation? we was there for work, and lots of it.

so anyhow, finished putting the motor back together today, and will be putting it back in to the car.

you know how, when growing up, you would give your new address to all your friends when you moved away, so they could all keep in touch?

keep in touch, friends.

been slackin on the updates here.... been putting them on my site though on the regular and FB as well. since being banned 13 times from VWKotex, i am staying in touch with the guys i "hung out with" there now.... haha.

its alive. runs but it needs tweaking as i also upgraded the injectors to Injector Dynamics ID1600's at this time as well. sounds cammy as all can be.

alignment, tune, race. its always that way once it runs again, isnt it? is for me anyhow. but now i am in no hurry anymore. no align during the day, dyno that night for track in the morning BS. i am not going to let my HOBBY CAR stress me out anymore. period.

WOOT! Sounds MEAN man! Nice work! Also, "Hobby" being key work there, gotta enjoy your time rather than stress over it. It's not worth the stress IMO. :)

Cool project, to say the least! Just finished my read through your thread and let me say thanks for documenting the highs and lows along the way. Helps keep things in perspective as I start my own.

My two cents if you're going to build a new intake manifold is to keep the AEB intake runners and try a Lehmann style dual plenum. Obviously your fab skills are up to par.

Keep up the good work!!

i dunno.... just used what i had lots of layin around.... i dont know the difference between them as far as model gets which, but i know i have 2 or 3 different styles.

and some how i knew you'd be askin me questions. ;)

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=25630

looking at the pix, it looks like i used the ones with the ball joint in line with one of the bolts, not the big offset one.
