that shirt is awesome.

now, just a question here, with a few discussions about the strongest trans out there...

you have seem to broken a five speed 01e first day out. with that being said, it was old and possibly abused before you got your hands on it. IIRC last season Dom (GURUMAN) had the 6 speed 01e in his s4, which was pretty near full weight me thinks, and he....well....beat the ever living fiddle sticks out of it all season without a problem, other then frying a clutch in the beginning of the season maybe.

now granted this trans he had was freshly rebuilt, and yours....not so much. but im wondering where all the hate for the b5s4 trans comes from (other then the obvious synchro problem they have that can be remedied) or do people who say they're junk just really like spewing what other tell them and have no real world experience with it. fwiw doesnt the fastest quattro in the world run a 6 speed 01e??

i know youre gonna get a dog box, im just sayin....

Dom runs the S4 trans.
Paavola runs the S4 trans. (that fastest S2)
Janis runs the S4 trans.
this car i just linked you to runs the S4 trans.
USP/Chris Green runs the S4 trans.
Haenszel runs the S4 trans.
Ringlord runs the S4 trans IIRC.

i have spent some time looking into stuff from Scott, and tossing ideas around in my head. oh yeah, and reading my hate-mail on my VWKotex thread LOL. i love that place....

if Janis can make that trans from Scott stay alive, anyone can. what it is boiling down to right now is $3k or $6k.

but yesterday was the scouting mission, WE MATURE PEOPLE HERE understand this. something broke. could care less, other than not racing tomorrow with my friends. i got to make a few passes in the car, and thus refreshed my love for the project is all.

and for the record, my trans was not even a wide first trans, and we do not know yet whats up with it. came home, unloaded, and had some drinks and played ball with the boy.... and did my video stuff.

i dont want to say alot, but a fair amount, of people that i have talked to be it on here or locally....as soon as i say i want to use a b5s4 trans, the response i get is junk, trash, garbage, good luck, etc.

i guess looking back, the people that made those comment....havent ever run a serious amount of power through a b5s4 o1e, so their opinion should be void, lol.

all i know is what i see, and i see that aaron managed to, from what we think now, destroy a 5spd 01e in a day with a low 600awhp 2700 lb car. and Guruman managed to keep a 6sod 01e together for an entire season with an >600awhp pretty much full weight b5s4. granted, like i said above, guru's was freshly rebuilt and aarons was old and possibly on its way out before he got to it. but those who remembered how guru drove that car, daily, to say the least he wasnt nice on it.

I only know of good things about the B5S4 tranny.

Like stated above, all of the fastest audis in the world use them...not to mention Marc's v8tt coupe. He's got a built one from Scott in it and has no worries about blowing it up ever. After riding in it with him slamming the clutch through every gear with the insta-torque 4.2tt and the tranny just loving it I'm a believer.

The B5S4 01E is stronger than the model Aaron ran.
But having said that a lot has to do with how it's driven and the wheel and tire slection also effects this. Javad, Mike Hood and other have raced on the 01A and had luck.
Three times we launched caused three broken transmissions and the car only had 2/3's the power they did

I bought a locked up 01E and fixed it for 70 bucks, Did some fast shifts and man does it shift good. After my B3 90q is done i will swap it from my B6 into my 90q so it can hold the power.
