:woowoo: You're gonna do great and come home with a running car AND a big smile. Don't let the announcer at the track get away with calling it an oddie. :-D

Good luck Aaron. It would be really hard to build la dedicataed track car without the luxury of working out bugs on the street. It took me a couple of days of running, putting it on the lift to check things, and then repeating...

Good luck today!

nope, mine is down too. :(

story at 11. with video. teaser?

2nd run, launched/bogged and i think all four wheels came off the ground!!! :o bucking bronco style!

3rd run, launched and slipped out of the hole, 11.13 @ 120 coasting after 3rd gear, with 1.83 60'.

4th run, launched and slipped out of the hole, 11.3 @ 132 running a lil of 4th gear, with 1.9x 60'.

now no shifty.... motor off, clutch in i can get r-3-4. no 1-2-5. no clutch in motor off i get nothing.

well I spose that might be why. They seem to hold up pretty well normally but you never know with an older one...especially on slicks.

Do you possibly have plans for a built one?

sorta. we disassemble and i have a second one i took apart. if we cant make one out of two, i order a custom geared dog-gearset and call it a day.

and yeah, 4x slicks and >600 AWHP. things are gonna give.

CONGRATS AARON! WHAT A HUGE DAY FOR YOU!

This day has been a LONG time coming, I am psyched you got some runs. PITA about the trans but something had to give, and that is an easy one to fix given a big bag of $$.

AWESOME!

shifting felt sooooo muchbetter than what i am used to, that POS FWD 02A stuff.

everything came together like buttcheecks, i swear.

but i knew deep down this narrow-first trans would be the week link.

i swear the car left the earth when i launched on the second pass, dropping the clutch. Janis, you recall our convo about this. well, i did just that, bouncy bounce.

Don (Repoman) has a good 10 minute vid of the show coverage up on Poortex, in the regional PacNW forum. there was an Aircooled Bug running 9.6x @ 145 or so. sweeeeeet.

anyways, learning experience. watch out. we are on the calculations, figuring out THE BEST setup for a dog-box.......

here is the poortex vid...

Must feel good to finally run it, that thing sounds very good. Once you get some 1.5 60' times the feeling is insane. Again aaron great job, wish i was still in the PNW to watch this thing

Aaron you need to install JHM solid throw shifter, that is the shit ;) AND ON A DOG BOX CALL Scot Dewitt he will hook you up I hope. An yeah you need to spin all four wheels another wise it will hop like a bronco :P

although you broke. its only a trans, and im sure you wanted an excuse to get that PAR setup anyways after Marc posted those pics of his 02a/j setup a few months back. :P

it did feel really strong.

i have the 034 shifter setup, solid. its hanging up somehow.... if i put it in reverse it sticks down now.

and i did talk with Scott, he was going to set me up but i got my trailer instead. the AUD is really down now, we are working on my ultimate gearing and i will figure out a way. it'll happen.

Scott was going to do some stuff for me, and i am gonna get in touch with him again about it.

and as far as spinning 4 wheels, i was doing just that. my backup camera crew told me i was blowing 1st gear off like nothing.

Janis, i have a valve setup coming for the clutch. it is open on engage, and has modules you put in for release. it slows down the release of the clutch, so you do not SLAM the trans. and best thing is you do not have to bleed the clutch line when you change the rate.....
