Nice.....If it never runs a mile it sounds great and especially at those high revs. How come my 1.8t doesn't sound as well? Oh 1/4 the hp and stock exhaust makes a difference? <dripping with sarcasm> Like Myke said it makes a guy want to go work on the car except the TT with the small I4 would be the wrong car and the wrong 20vt. so, been plinkin and dinkin around, with this next two weeks away from work and all. changed oil, changed fuel filter for the more appropriate E-85 SS mesh 40 micron one.

changing plugs anyhow, even though they are barely used. at $2 each, they are wear and tear items that get changed with the oil.

and so i have been working on closing up some holes on the front end. like the driver headlight and foglight/turn space. next i will do the pass fog/turn space. i want the lower grills, but i do not know without taking the bumper off what to order, so i will wait on that.

and here is the new fuel filter. it was ~3/4" longer than the other one so i shortened one of the hoses to make it still fit.

and i guess i didnt post this either. the sender for logging fuel pressure to the ECU.

Sweet! You should spray the lower 3/4" or so of those headlight plates body color to better mimic a B4 front end.

I just got back from reading the threads on Kotex. Some serious paranoia. I especially like all the "Physics lessons" about (What would happen if a control arm suddenly broke and the tire hit the ground. Hmm. Apparently your car would (Instantly go from 0 - 150mph in 0.1 seconds and crash through the living room and exit the house on the other side). No, the tire wouldn't spin, the Diff woudn't send the power to the other front wheel that was still airborn, you would just instantly go through your living room wall at 150mph.

That thread got me thinking about stuff again. I dont have kids yet, but I've been "Interested". I have been secretly watching the parenting styles of my friends while analyzing my own parents style they used with me. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, My own personal conclusion is that......

1) Kids have been doing just fine without obsessive compulsive child rearing techniques from overbearing, overprotective parents for 1,000's of years.

2) If left to entertain themselves, kids will..... OMG.... Learn on their own. They will learn to think freely and think for themselves. They will learn to create a Game and think up a new way to play.

3) Parently that involve their kids in what they do I think have more meaningful relationships with those kids later in life. I think the right place for my Best friends 3yr old is on the Tractor with him, NOT in daycare. Sure, she could fall off the Tractor and hurt herself. Or she could fall into a hole at Daycare and break an ankle. She could get run over by a Forklift at work (He owns and is chief wine maker at a winery). But.... She hasn't been run over.

My point is.... Involve your kids, keep doing what your doing. Obviously precautions must be taken (headsets to protect hearing for example). But involving them and being with them is more important IMHO than having them in a Plastic Bubble.

My wife grew up in a plastic bubble and it's taken the better part of 5 years to pry her out of it and she still has issues doing anything comletely on her own. I will never raise a child like that. I'm draggin my kids everywhere and they're doing what ever I'm doing , period.

agreed, my kids are gonna learn to fend for themselves just like I have. I'll give them everything I possibly can to help out, but they will work for it...and my son is going to like cars whether he wants to or not lol

so i got the car aligned again today.... third alignment for a car that has never been driven basically. but i gotta make CERTAIN its gonna go straight. the shop got a new HUNTER top-of-the-line machine, works by cameras and photo-eyes now. very neat machine.

just enjoying the POURING DOWN RAIN out here.... and hangin out with Chub and his momma.... :slap:

got a couple holes to fill in the floor and i am pretty much ready to race. a thorough once-over, and we will be there.

Nice I think my school has the same machine. You bolt paddles to the wheels and the cameras picks up on them. it's all computerized and you can see your changes is real time via a computer graphic. I can't wait to use it.

used to run BKR7E @ .024 when on the smaller (GT35R) turbo.....

one of my tuners runs them in his 7 sec Drag Radial street driven 1236 RWHP Chevy Nova.... i think 100mm turbo? its a small block, too. LOL.

but they are working out just fine i would say.....

I'm chiming in late here. When I saw the pix of your son helping you with your car I smiled from cheek to cheek. Getting your child involved with something your passionate about could instill them with the same passion (cars) or they could find something or their own. It's important that you spend quality time with your kids and teach them what a work ethic is. So many kids today having no F'ing clue what a work ethic or responsibility is and are enabled by their parent(s). Those kids typically do not do well later in life. Your son will remember these moments and will cherish these pix when he's older.

Now about the car. IT'S SICK!!!!!!!! You just gave me hope on my project.

so, little nervous for tomorrow am i.

going over the car for the last two days, and just making sure its all tip top shape. today i did a little blast down the street and fully spooled first gear with the slicks. DDDAAAAAYYYYUUUUMMMMMMM!!!!!! when it hit it HIT!!

BUT; when i pulled back into the driveway the rear wheels were toe'd in BAD. raised car, went over stuff, loosened the control arm bolts to see if there was play there (yes i re-tightened them). come to find, the ball joints were snug but not tightened!!! :frustrated: :bashtard: :frustrated: :slap: :frustrated:

so quick call to the alignment shop, they are full, but get it down here we will get it in. got it on the rack and got the rear sorted out, now it is as ready as i can make it.

its gonna be a handful, i just know it. and i am as ready as i think i will ever be. its not like i can just go out on the highway and race a 75mph semi on the road whilst going up the on ramp or that type of stuff, it just isnt possible. so this is the maiden voyage for the car. and myself with it.

i am not going to go into 4th tomorrow. just a run down to steer/stop it, and then a launch or three. pull 1-2-3 hard, logging for the tuner. i have 3 different MAPS made up for launch, etc. gotta get that figured out. see how it reacts.

the launch control makes about 10psi in the garage..... that may be enough, that is @ 6k rpm. i have 12 gallons fuel, thats good for at least 10 runs, but i wont get that many.
