Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. Injection is nice but I'd rather be blown.
These AC lines have got to go. The question is for how long

Real men don't need AC.

But they need pretty engine bays?
Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. Injection is nice but I'd rather be blown.
Well, nobody said putting a Diesel truck turbo into a CQ was a bolt in job
I pulled the offensive AC line but that is not the end of the list of things to be tweaked
More pics tomorrow

"Pretty" is very subjective, but yes, I like my shit looking good. Especially my engine bay.

So I'm suck at work which means Internet on my phone with 3G limiting my ability to browse for info. Does anyone recall the thread size of the OE fittings on the fuel hardlines? My plan is to just run Teflon AN lines to the 3b fuel rail then 7a regulator.
Also, who has the best price for 3b injector retainers/seats?

Ron Davis is making my AC an endangered option
Time will tell if the condenser will fit.
Also, I may need to switch from hydroboost.
Hoping to get some wiring and cleaning done tomorrow before my work week starts on Sun :dur:

So here is an update!
Hank had to do quite a bit of effing around to get the 3" downpipe to clear the chassis, subframe, transmission and still connect to the downpipe! But he managed to figure out a solution:

I may shave a bit off a fin on the case and make a bit more space on the chassis but everything bolts up without any major interference!
I need to hunt down some oil lines (-3&10 or -4&12) and finish wiring (wanted to make sure everything fit) then I can fire it up!

damn, hank is a fabbing BEAST!
Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. Injection is nice but I'd rather be blown.
That manifold is a piece of shit to deal with in a small chassis car. It is an eternal struggle to manage clearance to the frame rail, tie rod and transmission. Thank heaven it is out of my life forever.

You sent him your manifold to bolt to his jig? Nice. He needs a V8 jig too.
Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. Injection is nice but I'd rather be blown.
I just need a v8 block and heads. Easy peasy.

Get on it. I could use some nice headers here soon...for when I inhale a lot, I need to be able to exhale equally ;-)
Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. Injection is nice but I'd rather be blown.
lol Hank, you can blame me for that (I sold him the mani and I started the group buy for them in the first place lol). OOPS I guess I am a major source of fabrication hell for you considering my tb fiasco as well lol

Yeah, mine is nice and new minus the drywall lodged in some of the holes
