That's what I'm talkin about! That is great spool for a turbo that large.

The power and tq lines are almost identical to the 3071'd car that was on the dyno that day. Except ~100 more :)

Thanks guys. I might get adventurous and turn the boost up to 29 or so. I think that should be fine on the 94+w/m mixture we have this car running on. As per Brady's request, we're going to take a degree of timing out of it. We couldn't get this car to knock on the dyno - maybe something to do with the different stroke and time at TDC as Hank mentioned before?

and when you say "100 more", you actually mean 133/115 more :p

holy crap does this car ever PULL LIKE A MONSTER (perhaps not a like a certain green monster, but I digress lol).

Just some more data... compared to ICE RCKT - 3071 on a 2.2L. Spool is nearly identical. I'd say the QSV and stroker are a pretty wicked combo.

It's rudimentary, but keep your mouse in the same spot and scroll up and down to compare.

Clutch gave in. She did NOT like 29psi. It was pulling fine, change settings, pull fine, change settings, pull fine.

Then went to get on the highway, and WEEEEEE. Okay... perplexed looks. Nothing changed, but now the clutch is slipping? Try 5th, WEEEEEE. Proceed to baby the car and turn boost down to 22psi. Clutch holds fine at that level.

Now sourcing - 7A flywheel. Who wants a BABIED South Bend Stg4 SS for $500 OBO? Has less than 10 000km on it, has literally slipped 5 times. Would be good for ~420whp and under (3071, 30R, etc.).

Bummer.

But, yeah, I must have intuitively known that we were near the limit of the clutch, and THAT was why we didn't raise the boost further on the dyno.... :bullshits: self.

Dang...we will see how long my SB stage 4 holds up.

Pssst...go with the JB racing flywheel ;) It is AWESOME. Car revs like a sport bike, and you can run the less expensive SB clutches. The 7A style clutches are expensive.

problem is that the 'aan fitment' single mass flywheels still stick you with the same pressure plate, which is the limiting factor tq wise on that clutch kit. The sachs racing 707 pressure plate is what gives you a big bump in power handling.

Ah ok. Southbend does claim to have a high clamping force pressure plate for the AAN fitment stage 5 kit, we put one in Aaron's car...it's basically an on-off switch but pedal effort is not much greater than my stage 4. Nothing like the hard pedal in your coupe. We will see how long the stage 4 w/ JB FW holds up in my car after the new turbo.

I would say not long. It was so weird when it started slipping. Just like an on/off switch. From a certain point it just wouldn't hold anymore.

LOL Brady... good call. FWIW the car felt VERY strong... natural. Boost was increased very slowly... .5psi at a time, and with a close eye on fuel. Made a few very small tweaks, but honestly it's pretty good. I think we'll only need a couple hours on the dyno when it comes time.

Hah... the downpipe is pretty custom. We had to modify it a bit when we got the turbo with the smaller hotside A/R as well. It basically *was* a Stromung downpipe that was hacked up and hacked together. 3"off the turbo and the WG connects about a foot after that. I'll see if I can get some pics sometime.

To quote Marc:

900 ft/lbs 'static', meaning if you drop it on a launch with that much power it will laugh in your face. but it has been measured to hold 900ft/lbs on industrial torque measuring equipment @ SB.

And another thing - intake temps are so effing awesome in cold weather.

Ambient -4*C out, run starts at 0, drops to -4 with w/m in full swing, then slowly climbs to 1 degree. How's that for IAT!?

Marc said "stage 4x 7a setup"

Which, I would assume, means Stage 4 Extreme Street according to this page: http://www.efiexpress.com/catalog/produ ... ucts_id=38
