Sounds exactly like what Phillip had to do on his 3b'd 5k. Best of luck to you. Sounds like it will be running shorlty. Call me when it does( I want proof over the phone

Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq - FW pin
I'm not sure, but I am positive that's my problem. The ring gear sensor works fine (good signature) but I am not getting squat from the other one (which sucks) mainly because I have botched two pin creation attempts, so tomorrow I will tackle attempt #3.

People are talking about me. I feel special.
Okay. Did you reverse the polarity on the pin sensor? When I had my fidanza in I got it to at least run and idle.
What we had to do was shave the sensor down a teeny tiny bit to bring it closer to the pin. The better idea is mill down the bracket but one of my mounting bolts was rounded out.
My hugest issue was my grounding was poor which caused the car to run and idle fine but go crazy when trying to rev or just drive.
But seriously. Polarity swap should get you some progress. Before I swapped mine I couldn't get any secondary triggers. Then either mill the bracket or the sensor a bit so the face of the sensor gets closer to the pin if that doesn't help.
You're recording a trigger log in Vemstune, right?
I believe the entire time, the main issue was grounding. I think I would have been fine with the fidanza with proper grounding. No way to know for sure besides putting it back in. But whatever.
EDIT: I should also add. I made up a quick harness for the polarity swap just for testing purposes. Now if you've already done this then most of this was pointless.

That was after getting it running and driving. The stock coil failed causing it to not run after having it driving for a week. During that week I had driven to Vegas for Battle Born Quattro.
Good thing it died an hour after getting home and not out in the middle of the Nevada desert...

Frick. I wish I would have seen this sooner. Well, I made some 'factory style' trigger pins and welded it on the existing pin. I have to shave it down a bit now, as it's about 1/16th of an inch too close to the sensor.
Also, I have not reversed the polarity, do I need to do this with both? Or just the one? ALSO, I have not recorded a trigger log at all yet.
Edit: now I feel special. :dur:

Only the secondary trigger crankhome must be reversed.
While your at it, upgrade to vems 1.2.2 (with the latest nightly) its specialy made for the auditrigger setup. Made my car even better than 1.1.95. I used Div by 27 for it.

Hi Ben,
I stayed up reading all 32 pages of your project thread yesterday until the wee hours of the morning. It is a great and well-detailed thread with tons of pictures! I really enjoyed reading it and found myself rooting for you to finish it before your deadline. You've done a great job on your car and I can't wait to see it on video and hear it run. I really like the wheels, stance, brakes, and of course the engine swap! Keep up the great work!

Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq - FW pin
Don't upgrade firmware if you're already at a higher version. Trigger logs are in the tools tab. Just choose record triggerlog. Just make sure the surface of the pin is nice and smooth and somewhat symmetrical. And yeah only reverse the secondary sensor.
Was pretty busy yesterday otherwise I would have mentioned something sooner. Sorry bud.

Yeah, make sure to unplug fuel injectors and coils if you do firmware upgrade, otherwise you'll flood your engine like I did one time lol
I couldn't believe it when I unplugged all of the injectors and the car kept running for a few seconds because there was fuel in the cylinders.

Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq - FW pin
That's right, no dice. My younger brother and I worked on it for the better part of 4 1/2 hours tonight and we couldn't bring Oceanic to life. Right now for some reason I am getting way to many triggers when it tries to fire up, which in turn is causing some nasty timing issues. SO I am assuming some kind of noise is making it into the system. Anyways, I gotta give a shout out to Marc, Phil and Dan for helping me out! Thanks guys! I will try to get it going this weekend.
OH and for those interested, some of one of my trigger logs...

Ya, it's a weird one. Changing that the trigger grounds to pin 36-26 really helped things out a lot. I at least am getting some spark events now, but she still won't run. :(
EDIT: So I slept on the issue last night, and I think my problem is I am using a common ground in the engine bay for everything. The reason I did this was to reduce diagnosis times when it came to dealing with ground issues, but I failed to consider the possibility of introducing electrical noise into the system. SO I am going to play around with the grounds later on this week and see what I can come up with.

I hate these types of problems! You sit there with so much anticipation for it to turn over and fire up and then nothing. I hope you get it sorted soon!

Re: Ben's Oceanic H1C/K26 AAN 4kq - Electrical noise
My aan ems 4k had all sensor grounds(engine harness grounds) as one. Coil kit was its own ground. Pins switched, ran fine. Did you switch it in the connector itself or use the adapter harness? If you used the adapter does it have shielded cable on it?
