I knew it! I guess I knew it before you did.

Glad you're finally enjoying a day at the track.

Picked up the ABT wheels that were on ol' Lago and a set of 235/40 Dunlop Direzza Star Specs. These Dunlops run a size bigger than other tires, so these are more like a 245 tire. Stacked up to the Nitto R Compounds in the same size they are actually slightly taller. Crazy.

They look great, IMO.

I'm only having the one that got burnt refinished. I needed the cover plate to paint match so it isn't done yet. Just have the 3 on right now. I think I need either wheel studs or centering rings for the hubs. Know any good sources?

Got the Nittos put on the Team Dynamic wheels. Come to find out they are only 7.5" wide and not the 8" advertised. So the 235/40 track tire is a little wide. 8)

Went to the Lab this morning to pull my oil pan and install a baffled one with the s4 windage trey. Also welded in a return drain from my catch can. Those oil pans sure are fun when 3 of the allen bolts get stripped and the subframe has to be dropped. Took about 4 hours. Thanks Hank!

Also bought a new serial to usb adaptor and got the VEMS to communicate with my laptop. Dyno'd soon!

So the A/C has gone out. I haven't determined if it is the compressor or a busted line, but it sure is making an ugly screetching, whining sound. :(

Guess I'll just have to put a built short block in while I'm fixing the A/C.

Made it out to Wide Open Wednesday again. Once again there was a large turnout, but only one other Audi besides myself. No one else made it out this time from the 5 cylinder gang. In the 3 hours I only manage 4 laps, but they ran the west track. They managed to keep the track extremely slow with cones everywhere, but still, good fun!

This was my second lap and the first that I filmed. A couple of corners they put cones is horrible places...and you can hear me complain. Missed some shifts, etc. etc.

My third lap was much better. Afterwards 3 or 4 people came up and commented on how amazing my car sounds. With it straight piped out the side, it does sound menacing. I should of had him email me the videos he took outside of the car at the start.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fHnxewtE5s

Then the fourth and final lap was going awesome! Pushed the car harder and had the best lines the track setup would allow. Better shifts and then the guy in front of me spun completely off the track and I caught up to him, causing me to have to slow down. I was bummed, especially since it was the last time out.

Yeah, they did suck. I really had it going that last lap, had figured out the cones somewhat, but oh well. There was a 1.8t A4 with the Garret 2871 kit and no other Audis. I represented by myself. What happened to everyone??
