Sorry, no vids, just pictures of 11 second time slips!
Image

The car ran freaken awesome. The first run was the best with an 11.48@122.5 mph. The next run was ok, but I didn't launch as well. Unfortunatly the 60 ft timer was broken or the fiddle sticking nubiens didn't know how to work the lights on the first two runs. The first run felt like a low 1.7x 60 ft. I switched lanes and screwed up the launch on the third run, but laid down a blistering 124 mph trap speed. After that the rain started falling so we called it a night. Thanks again to my Motorgeek crew, Tom, Todd, and Steve :-). I threw an altenator belt at the end of the first run, bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th going through the traps.. We quickly got it back together and even had spares arriving just in case!

It was a fun night, I usually get a few looks from muscle car guys, but tonight was another story. LOTs of people were stopping by to see "just what the hell have I done to this car!" :D

For those that haven't been following other threads, I'm running the car on E85 Ethanol, and yes, it runs better than 104 unleaded. Plus, I can now call this, my street tune.

I must say that it was incredible to see Jim litterally blow the starting mats out from underneath the feet of the starters with the one sided exhaust. What a great running car.. Very impressive

To see the Audi smoke and I do mean smoke some big dollar swanky track specific rides was funny as hell

The only car noticibly faster was a Jet dragster that ran in the 6 second range

Yea, I dodged the bullet today, even the usual track nazi stopped by and commented on how well the car was running.

how many metres above the see are you guys? i think you are really high, cos here,we live at ~50 metres above the sea :D and 380 chp cars make 12.0 and 550 chp cars do 11.1

It is 5860 feet, or about 1785 meters. Seeing the cars that Jim was spanking was most impressive. Seeing the other cars that ran 11s last night you really get an idea of what it takes to go that fast here. I got to the track just in time to get to see his second run and overheard some kid mentioning that the car is going to melt with all that spray. Hah!

 That's funny, quite a few people thought I was spraying last night. Wiz, I'm running the 75# injectors Javad sells, at 65 psi base rail pressure. This is barely big enough, but it idles and runs great, I'm very happy with them. If I go any larger than this, I'm going to do staged injectors. The fuel tank and hard lines are still stock.

doncez, this car could do an 11.1 with a perfect launch, but I'm not going to go through the trouble of setting the car up for this. The whole point of this car is to pull up to the race track, whether it's drag strip, road track, auto-x, unload the trunk and go have fun. Sure I'm never going to be as competitive as the purpose built cars, but for me, the fun is the look on peoples face when I tell them this is my daily driver :-D Just disconnecting the sway bars for last night was a big step for me  This did help the car get hooked up faster BTW

Not bad,Joel (purple-pill) was running 8 injectors on his 20V when he was doing the methanol.I could only imagine how much E85 is consumed with respect to regular unleaded gasoline.
Whatever the case my hat goes off to you,I always thought the E85 would slowly eat away @ a plastic fuel tank though :?

Congrats Jim, you're making me jealous. I just got my new injectors in so hopefully it will stop raining long enough to get to the track next week :frustrated:

:woowoo: ! Nice going Jim! And that's way up in the sky out there!

BTW, if you get the Denver post, my sister out there has become a columnist for them. Look for stuff by Katie Stone if you've got a paper and some time...she's written a couple of really good ones.

All things the same, E85 should require 52% more fuel as compared to Gasoline.
