Steve
OHHH yeah we met up! That car makes more weird noises than me after a spicey burrito!
Thanks for meeting up! I wonder how fast that thing would be at sea level?? btw: I drove back to San Diego Wednesday morning and it took me 19.5 hours and a total of 1/2 hour stopping for gas and food.. ha, NEVER again If you're ever in So Cal make sure to hit me up.. i'll show you were the GOOD burrito places are 8)
Yea, too bad there was sooo much traffic. Did you guys make it in time for free beer :? Sea level is one thing I never want to experience in this car. I'll end up moving just to have more power if I ever get a taste :bashtard:

Jim,
If you come to Old School Quattros in MD, I will give you 016 # 3 if you blow #2 up here or on the way! I picked one up for free last week... elevation is 740, it's on the way home from WaterFest!

Jim, we should just trade houses.
My wife has been thinking we should move out there to be with family, and obviously you need the higher density air, so.....

Sorry guys, the car is staying in CO this summer, even the Miller event is looking bad. To many other vacations planned this summer.
I stopped by Autozone tonight and picked up some goodies for the rear sway bar install. The plan is to run a 22mm 4kq bar up front, and the 26mm 90q bar in the rear. This along with 315 lb springs all around and Koni yellows should help get that rear end around. I just hope it's not to twitchy on the road track. I'm also hoping the smaller front bar will help keep the front end planted while drag racing and accelerating in 1st and second.
All I ned to do is weld on a few tabs and it will be done! Ohh, that reminds me, I need to get some strut tower brackets for the strut brace. might as well get those on while I have the welder out.
i was reluctant to remove my front bar because #1. i knew how my setup worked as it was (which was really well) and #B. because i didn't wanna crawl on the ground to take it off in the cold
so true....problems get put off in the winter, that's for sure
sounds like an easy solution....seems silly that the current rear bar is about as thick as a sharpy
i still have stock suspension though, so seems like the car would be really sloppy without a front bar. That's why i think this exchanging of bars might work well for me
ah yes, having driven on stock-suspended cars with no front sway bar, I would highly NOT recommend it. Sway bars are great when you have the stock springs. When you get a chance to go coilovers, you can simply rely on the spring rate to prevent roll... with stockers you really need the assistance of the sway bar.
yea, my thoughts exactly.....now what do you think about jim's idea here with stock suspension? provided it turns out to be a happy combo.
im reluctant to go full suspension on my car because i don't feel it's worth it in its condition - not to mention i fear the car will rattle itself to pieces.
i like the stock feel for road trips...but want less of the 'ol audi push in the corners...damn safe/predictable handling
Give it to me I deserve it. When I bail on events like this it leads me to question why I built the car to go so fast. Somewhat of a catch 22 when you don't have unlimited funds. Hey I went as far as joining NASA since I was planning on doing the weekend event! At least now I can do the CO events if I'm not in Hawaii, Mexico, San Francisco, or San Clemente at the time  Yea, I've got a lot of beach time planed this summer :-D
Jim- I have a similar swaybar setup on my 90q. stock 90q front bar 4k front bar mounted in rear with poly mounts and endlinks. (about $40 at pepboys)
Rear bars makes a huge difference. Car is very nuetral, and tends to oversteer with slight left foot braking or throttle lift. My car is NA 7A but in the right conditions I can still get the rear to step out with throttle.( u-turns first gear, even more fun with moisture on the road)
