i cant diasgree with that, once i missed it once i actually hit 4th i just sorta pussy footed it to cause as it is youre barley in 4th at the top end anyway, so if you miss it thats it. coulda been a 10.9-10.8 possibly, hopefully get it done this sunday at englishtown!

So. Got the 10 hole rotors that Jim mentioned a few pages back.

Hat height is a bit deeper as expected. And looks like ill be able to line up two of the predrilled 10 holes in the rotor hat, drill two more, and be mint as far as mounting them to the hub goes. This winters project for sure.

ya, it should work well. im going to dive into it this winter. two of the 10 predrilled holes seem to line up pretty well, maybe a bit of die grinding to get the holes a tad larger and then like i said two fresh drilled holes and theyll be good.

That was nasty. Was that clutch slip or tire spin though? I know it is partially tire spin, but it seems that there was lots of clutch slip involved too (off the line). How about that shift on the first run as well? Did you really spin the tires that hard? Good job and congrats!

all good questions, that im not sure of the answers myself. first in car pass, that was a 10.8...third gear it just LIGHTS up the shift light. now when i was in the car i was thinking i was killing the clutch....but i dont see how i could have killed the clutch ALL of 3rd gear, hit 4th...didnt seem to bog or be WAY low in rpm for that gear...and still have gone that fast. could the clutch have just been totally slipping from the launch this entire time and thats the part to blame and not really the tires, could be. time will tell when i take it apart this winter. its an fx700, and aaron seems to run fine on slicks with his...and hes making more power, so i dont think i need something beefier, but i will heavily consider upgrading to the sintered iron discs over the winter.

missed the 1-2 last pass pretty bad, so that locked up the 1-2 shift collar and that was the end of my season. trans will come out, rebuild, this winter we are going to play with some synchro/gear modding as well, at least for the 1-2 stuff so i can rip that shift as fast as humanly possible. other then that, V8 torsen up front for sure now, and give it hell come spring time.

well..... funny, as out on the West coast we went backwards.

clutch discs. i put back in the ceramic bronze, took OUT the sintered irons. and couldnt cut better than 1.8x all day. and they were slipping hard thru to 3rd gear. i was still trapping 151, 152, 153. but couldnt make better than 10.14 to save my life.

i, too, thought it was tire spin, especially on the no-lift-shift pass i did. but it was clutch. and i am not pullin the trans to work on it anytime soon. too hurt.

season enders all around. PROST!

That torsen in the front is a bad idea. If you have to have a front diff, spring for the wavetrac. Being cheap on the torsen will probably end up costing you a case and a pinion gear, along with shards all throughout your tranmission.

Looks good! Fast as snot!

ive heard people say just that, and ive heard people say they have put shloads of power through them in the front and they have been fine. a few hundred i can spend and have no problem with, over a grand...i may have to just keep trucking away with the open front diff then, lol.

the drivers rear glass? oh that ended up somewhere in the field next to the return road at the track on the 10.8 pass. friends in the stands said it was quite the site.

no wheel speed just yet. next spring we will have something thatll help traction down low though on those street tires. then more boost up top, and ill be moving right out.
