Yeah, Issam is my go-to guy for used parts (and many new). He's a tremendous asset to the community. You can find him on MG and S2forum as wizard-of-od, or on his website/Facebook/Instagram through his company, iAbed Industries.

You are looking at a .8x A/R for the 16cm. Maybe a low .9x.

Re: New guy, old car
I am serious. According to our wonderful government, I need to tow the car to the border to have the border patrol inspect it and get a stamp of approval. No other way around it. I am NOT lugging this thing 600 miles north.
Is it a registration/title thing? If so feel free to shoot me a PM I can ...

Even if I get a short block, I'm getting H-beam rods. So might as well get just the crank.

Ooof. Yuck. People are awesome. Dad has several engines, but I don't remember where you're located.
I'm near Chicago IL.
Seeing how the head is messed up from the valve cover bolt boss, might as well get a long block or head/crank.
I have a new job. $7/HR more than now, 1/2 mile from home ...

Long time update...
Got the engine pulled. No bearing for #4... Unlike what I was told, which was it started knocking and he parked it, it was ran a long time without a bearing. To test my theory, I took off #1 cap. That bearing fell right on the crank with a couple thousands gap... So either a new ...

Sorry for the late reply. My Tapatalk seemed to have locked me out.
I'm thinking of transplanting the engine into a 4 door 72 Valiant.

What does it take to have the engine running in another car? VEMs? Megasquirt? Or is there a way to use the stock ECU?

Depends on how I'm feeling. Local pop station, Mumford and Sons off of Spotify, mixed station of unknown country bands, acoustic covers.

Re: Julian's '91 200 20vt
MWE grooves most certainly help performance. Its short for "Map Width Enhancement". Truck pullers and tractor pullers are limited to .200" or all the way down to smooth bore (no MWE groove) because of the power potential you can realize.

WH1C left, H1C right. They both have the "antisurge" housing but only the WH1C has a MWE.

There are some that came on 8.3L Magnum Case-IH tractors. That might be it.

So. As far as holsets go.
Baby H1C is a 54mm compressor with a slip on compressor outlet. Nothing cast for a MWE groove. Available on non-IC Cummins from 89-91. Only had 18cm exhaust housings.
Big H1C is 56mm. 91.5-93 Cummins had them. Available with either a 18cm or 21cm exhaust housing. Has a ...

Re: New guy, old car
Sorry there's been no updates. We had 10 days of flu here. First my wife, then my daughter who ended up in the hospital, myself, then my infant. It's just been awful.
Then I picked up a new daily. I had a 07 Outback 2.5i NA. It decided my 740 mile weekly commute wasn't something it wanted to do ...
