Re: Avant 200 version 3.0 new and improved

I will have to look at my back up core support as I did not see any rubber grommets on mine. I may have to go to Fastenal and pick something up. Oh the fun of modifications...I am starting to get excited knowing it could be a week or so before I can start it back up.

Re: Avant 200 version 3.0 new and improved

You’ll need to remove the little plastic grill nut in the center and possibly the left grill latch. I loosen the two 13mm bolts on the core support (at the frame rails) and it allows you to pull up the core support enough to slide it into its new home. Seriously the best advice. Loosened the 2 ...

Re: Andy's 91' 80q

This project is really coming along, I like what you are doing, the transmission tunnel you left it? No slicing and stretching it out a tiny bit? Is that a stock 3b 20v intercooler? What are your HP/TRQ goals? This looks like a really fun project, I have enjoyed watching.

Re: Avant 200 version 3.0 new and improved

Rods are buttoned up, timing belt back on, head done, distributor cap on, new venting mod from EFI on but hard to see the shiny bits in the picture under the hoses. Next up for the coming weekend is sourcing turbo hoses for the EFR BorgWarner turbo going in. The connections are not the same, so ...

Buttoned up, now I need to find a place that sells turbo lines and connections for the EFR borgwarner. Once that goes in this coming weekend I should also have the new intercooler, and subframe mounts front and rear installed...also have the catch can oil line mod from Marc put in and the ...

Head off, turbo out, broken cam cap bolts. Need to find caps and bolts asap. Can't believe this thing ran at all. Subframe out, going to instal new bushings while looking at it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180224/86bdb9ee86a98f13f35c3e637c77f1d0.jpg https://uploads&#46 ...

Hey Steve, nice to see you on the P.P. also nice to see the collection since I have only seen 2 of your cars in person. Is that 90 at Ethan's shop? I spy a lift, looks like a great work place to do that.

3d print a vent pod lately? I could use that in the next few weeks. Rods should be going in ...

This project...wow! Mike, the work you have put into this is nothing short of impressive. Are you also working on the engine on the side yet? I am interested to see more of the 24 volt electric turbo spool up system you are thinking of? Oh and heads up on the Samurai in the background, very fun NW ...

This project is insanity! The Big Brake conversion is amazing, in line with every other modification that you do to the 200. I would like to read more about the Big Brake change, what donor car is it coming from? I really enjoy following your project, always inspirational.

I would like to hear what turbo you are running, boost, how you like the VEMS, and what stage clutch you are on. I assume its a Southbend knowing where its bend in NH...(see what I did there? ) I love the fact it has traveled with you to so many places. Very cool!

Starting the teardown again and then there's that pesky intake Allen bolt behind the power steering pump. I'm going to do a little at a time this weekend to get the head off and oil pan off. Quick and dirty rod job....hopefully. acknowledging that there will be surprises on the way of course. https ...

Re: Just drove a 2014 Corvette

The Vette's are pretty cool, no doubt. Also, don't go drive a new RS3. At the end of the day, there is always someone faster. It's all about the personality of these old cars and tinkering with them. That's exactly how I feel. I am not trying to be the fastest, but fast enough. I love driving the ...

Re: Just drove a 2014 Corvette

With time to process and reflect on everything about the corvette, its simply amazing to feel and hear a new sports car these days. New already being 4 years old... I am not building a car for taking spots in traffic. I am not sure how that was inferred, possibly by talking about open spots? R32 is ...

Really enjoyed watching this thread. I know where a running A8 engine is here in GA but it will not help you there. There is an Audi Yard with an S8 and A8 engines near the South Carolina boarder (last exit in GA). I think you will like the throw with the short shift in it.

Just drove a 2014 Corvette

So my co worker has a 2014 corvette that she keeps as a second car. I was telling her about my build project and how I wanted my Audi wagon to be able to beat the typical corvette on the road. She said she would bring hers in so I could hammer it and catch a clue as to what I am up against. Today ...

Right? I did not film the 9 cars lining the driveway including a 91 200 20vt Avant, passat TDI avant manual or the various S cars. It was unreal and hard to take it all in
