What Berserker says. Aim for seats in or near Senna.
I live in Montreal and rarely go to the race anymore. But it sure is fun to be in the city on that weekend!

Umm, there shouldn't be a hose going from the turbo outlet to the intake manifold. That air is bypassing the intercooler and the throttle

Could also be overboost cut.
Why do you say that this is different from a fuel cut? What's not the same?

How about those codes?
What does the tach needle do when this happens?
Describe what you mean by a buck. Does a one second buck mean no power at all for a second?

Don't forget the tune when preparing your budget! And what should go with it, like EGT monitoring, knock listening, etc.
And, so far, with the exception of mentioning the flywheel and clutch, you're spec'ing out engine parts in boxes that when correctly assembled will make a 1200-1300chp engine on ...

Re: Dan's 4000CS Quattro 20vt Turbo Swap
I think you'll find that the short gears will be annoying when you have all the extra grunt of the 20vt.So 200 gearing would be better... But you'd have to swap the rear diff for a 3.89:1 diff as well. And the only one out there (that should fit) is the urq's.

Just to confirm, what MAP sensor is in the ECU?
When live map tracing, what cells do a WOT pull with decent loading go through on this map, at what boost levels?

Re: Strange engine failure (not my car for once!)
Why does the load axis only go to 206kpa? A stock urs6 will pass that. You sure that's the right map?
Nonetheless, I'm also in the "something external caused this" camp. Bad fuel, unregulated overboost, not enough fuel, etc...

Hmm, that's weird. I'd have thought that with a cranked down 33mm wastegate and a 30R would be a recipe for boost creep, yet you're losing boost.
Check your battery voltage too.

You shouldn't be disapointed in the VEMS. Sure it has some quirks, but so do most systems, including stock ECUs.
I don't understand what you mean when you say "when i lower the TDC after trigger it seems to advance timing and rev faster but i know its off the mapping at that point." If it runs ...

These coils, though awesome, with or without ignitor built in, are not recommended by other vendors for use in distributor setups. I'm pretty sure these are the same coils that are available at DIYAutotune, and through AEM as their smartcoils. AEM says they won't warranty coils used in distributor ...

I have a 4kq running on MS1 (on MSnS) but it's a JT, so no boost. However, if you're running low boost, you _cooouuuulld_ do what I did, and run it off a 5 window distributor. Timing accuracy will suffer, but shouldn't be fatal!!

If you leave the plastic or mesh grilles on the MAF and let them do do their job (they're called flow straighteners), this problem should diminish if not disappear completely.
This assumes that you have dialed in your MAF curve (voltage to mass flow) and that your injector data (flow and dead time ...
