Sounds like the way OEM works. I'm going to try and cut one up to be able to use.

I'm waiting to hear back from the warranty dept. I'm not sure I feel comfortable with anything but a new strut. I'm glad it was out of alignment and I wasn't taking a curve at speed.

They came from Bilstein. These were not off the shelf but revalved as well.

Any of you guys have trouble with the retaining ring for the collar on the rear Bilstein shock ?? Mine came loose and crashed straight down from a small bump.

I am legitimately looking for a transverse something to swap one into for DD duties. As much as a TT would be the easiest, I think I am going to look for a Jetta Sportswagon or maybe just a regular Jetta, then come up with a wrecked TT ...
